I'm looking forward to watching the stream of this one.

I haven't seen enough of either of these guys to have a super-informed opinion. But I am a pool fan and have seen them both play and followed the pool news too. Dynamite went to the Phillipines a couple of years ago and gambled for a month or so. That Phillipino experience is something Hatch doesn't have. He has been back to Asia of course, winning that World 10-ball championship. He just snapped off a bar-table 10-ball championship in Reno. I think over the past two years he has improved, even though he was extremely good back then. In addition to his great shotmaking, he is very strong mentally.
When Dennis Hatch played Orcullo in a tournament about 9 months ago, one that Corey won, I think it was 9-ball though it may have been 10-ball, Hatch was never really in it against Dennis. When Hatch played Soquet at Turning Stone 6 weeks ago, again he was never in it. From what I've seen, Dennis' mental game is not up there with the top world players.
That's why I favor DA.

But my point is that CB can be wrong. He was very wrong re his assessment of Stevie Moore. Of course CB was a man about it and played his heart out, but my point is that he was way off in his estimate of Stevie's strength.
... a more seasoned gambler and will not have to travel to another continent to play this match...Since I am European I have to root for Darren...
How bout at the fl pro tour event when he ran 2 5 packs bak to bak? And by the way he beat Marlon Manalo 8-1. He also beat Miz 9-1 in the finals of a pro tour event when he was 16. Dennis is capable of hitting a very high gear and beating anyone in the world. Also your talking about darren winning a tournament where the races are very long. This is a race to 100 so i will b looking forward to seeing how long dennis can keep in that high gear and if darren can fade it.
I agree... I will like watching Hatch win by 30...

There is one thing that IMO you are overlooking in your train of thought..... IMO, Chris had Stevie sized up right and I still think the game isn't that far out of line but on day two Stevie played perfect pool. Hatch, DAZ, SVB, Efren, etc... None of them would have liked playing Stevie on day two and great players are prone to do that occasionally. Chris could have hit the same gear and the match could have went his way, that's just how pool goes.... JMO
regional phenom may be a little of an understatement
i thought he was considered the best teenage player in the world when he was 16-19
Saw, you and I generally agree when it comes to gambling, and I hope this doesn't demean CB, but you can bet this as often as you like if you believe it is true/ I agree that Stevie played perfect on day two, but I do not believe Chris has that high of a gear. Even if Stevie doesn't hit it ... he is supposed to win. Let me know if you would like to bet on this match if there is a rematch and you have action.
No offense to CB, but Stevie is one of the top players in the world and I don't believe Chris knew it until he sat in the chair and watched it.
Well, when it starts, somebody better remember to tell Hatch that.
You're right, Chris does need a little something to make it an even game. But the results of that one match has some thinking that Chris made a bad game that he had no chance of winning. Like Chesscat saying "He was very wrong re his assessment of Stevie Moore." I know most will think that I'm delusional and biased because Chris is my boy but Stevie played real freakin good and Chris played as bad as I have ever seen him play. The second day was a 23 game difference mostly due to the fact that Stevie played perfect pool (it was the best performance I have seen myself by anyone). The final spread was 34 games and it just seems to me that a lot of people are under the impression that the game is really that far out of line. Had Chris jumped out early and put heat on Stevie, who knows??? I can't imagine Stevie offering more than 8 or 10 games if they tried to match up again and I will end it all if he gives Chris 30.....
Day 1- 35-28 Stevie
Day 2- 35-12 Stevie
Day 3- 30-26 Stevie
Dennis plays better when he's gambling than he does in big tournaments from what I've seen. I've never seen Darren gamble though, so I'm probably not going to bet on this one. I guess if I were forced to choose I'd pick Dennis because he has such unreal talent, also if they play on a tight table I like Dennis there as well.
