Hard to believe Buddy Hall has never been in the Mosconi Cup. Well, that will change this year, thank goodness! :)

This is pretty exciting to hear.. I'm quite happy to hear the JA will be the man in charge.. Curious to see who else will be on the team.. The only one I'd say is a no brainer is SVB..

With all the attempted damage control threads this week, I fully expected to hear this.

Best wishes to all of our team.
If you need me as a stunt double don't hesitate to call!

Buddy Hall has always had a calming effect on pool players. I've seen it many times at various pool events. He is a well-respected pool icon, and when Buddy speaks, you can best be assured that the players really do listen.

He speaks from many years of experience, as a road warrior and a tournament soldier, and those who are fortunate enough to gobble up any nugget of wisdom he shares will benefit greatly.

By golly, his very presence in Vegas this year for Team USA is going to be *exactly* the ingredient to ignite a strong team spirit. I think it's fantastic that he's going to be there this year. It doesn't get any better than this!

Now let's bring Dennis Hatch in to join Rodney, Earl, Johnny, and Shane. We will be a force to be reckoned with.

Watch out, Team Europe, that's a storm brewing. Welcome to America!

No matter how Hearn decides to pick the U.S team it should be the same way he picks the UK team. Whatever you think of Archer he does belong on the team, but Buddy Hall...not so much in IMO. Two captains...what a joke. Archer has a great record on the MC as does Earl, so as long as he's picking down the points ladder, Earl should be there. Shane is a no brainer and if not picked it would be the last nail in the MC casket for U.S fans. As far as the last two, they will probably be from the ABP click. Pool is dirty from the top down and always has been, but with the Internet everyone that wants to know it knows it now. Johnnyt

If Archer is a captain does that mean he's not playing? I thought the captains were non-players.

Has Hall ever played on a Mosconi cup team? If not, that's a shame, he's one of the top all time American players.

Forget Hatch. He played awful last year also. Puts no effort into the game, and can't handle no one on the list below. The best team America can make (unless we could use North America, and have Alex)
If this is not the team, USA will not win. Anyone else will prove to be a unseasoned weak link under this pressure, like we have seen the past couple years.

Archer
Earl
SVB
Rodney
Corey

Archer is playing. He's bringing Buddy in as a co-captain to help with the captain duties, so he can concentrate on playing. ;)

Hatch in recent times is hitting 'em STRONG. He has had a life-changing happening earlier this year, and now he's devoted his life to pool full-time. Check out his progress in the 14.1 tournament. The Hatchetman is back!

Corey is strong too. Not taking anything away from Corey. :)

Buddy Hall doesn't fly?

Thats what I know and that would explain him not playing in the early Mosconi Cups.

Oh, man, you are so right about that. I forgot. Me and Buddy both don't fly. We've talked about it before. Looks like he's in for a nice road trip to Vegas in December. :grin-square:

I do know before GPS , if you wanted to know how to go from anywhere to anywhere by car from Kansas to the E Coast- Buddy was your man.

I remember the first time I had ever met Buddy Hall, it was at the 2002 U.S. Open. I had been on the road before and met quite a few players, but I had never been to a pro-caliber tournament before like the Open. I had heard about the legend of Buddy Hall, and to meet him in person was such a treat for me.

His wife was so kind. At that time, she was smoking cigarettes, like me. We have both quit cigarettes since then. The two of us hung out front and gabbed the day away. She said it was refreshing to her to see how happy Keith and I were. She and Buddy have endured a marriage in the pool world. That is a feat within itself. She's a trouper and a wonderful person. They are both fortunate to have each other! :smiling-heart:

Here's a photo from that tournament in 2002. :)
