I'm very sad to say that Arthur died this morning.
He lived his life to the fullest and lived and died the way he wanted.

Pool has lost a Legend. The world has lost a wonderful man.
And we have lost a good friend.

I would like to thank everyone who sent notes of encouragement and
kindness to him. I printed them and read them to Arthur and his family.

thank you,
Barry Szamboti

Thanks Barry.:(

I spoke to Authur several times, and he was a hell of a guy. He was a fellow hunter, pool player. Sadly I never met him it would have been great. My sympathys to his family and the Szamboti family too.

sincerly,

Eric Petersen

Barry

My condolences in these difficult times. Art was so full of life when we met at VF, his energy belied his age. I would describe Art as a real human being. He will be sorely missed.

My condolences to Art's family and friends......
I only met Art once but it is a memorable event.
He had me laughing from the start of our conversation to the end. :)
I was looking forward to seeing him again this year at Valley Forge.

Rest in peace Art Cantando.....

Dear Barry,

Sorry to hear about Art...I was fortunate to meet Art for the first time at VF this year and got to spend some time with him and some friends at Art's home and had an opportunity to take a look into the life that Art had lived.

Art's life is a great example about living life to the fullest and the adventure and joy of doing so. His love of family and friend's, his love of pool(especially one pocket), his love of cuemakeing that he learned from a very dear friend, his love of big game hunting, painting, leather crafting and his zest for life and living.

I got to spend only 6 or 7 hours with Art.....it was like I had known him for years. He had that big smile and a friendly hand shake.

Art, you will be missed by myself and many.....you touched so many and we are all the better for it.

My condolences to you Barry for the loss of a dear friend and Art's family and friends.

With sadness and respect,

Scott

We have lost a great person who has created many wonderful works of art. He was a jack of all trades who really did master them all. RIP, Art. You will be sorely missed.

I didn't know him but I'm sorry to hear he has left us. Condolences to his friends and family.

Today has been a difficult day on many levels..
I've spoken with Barry on many occasions knowing Art has been very I'll, and knew this day of sorrow would happen, but prayed not for a long time.
It would be impossible to get much sader knowing the pain that the Cantando's and Szamboti's are feeling now..
Art was very special to me, and I will truely miss him.
Art just made me feel good inside. He was kind and tough rolled into one package. His sense of humor was un describable. I spent much quality time with him, which I'm very greatful for.
Yes, We lost a "Legend"

My dad just passed away, and we laid him to rest yesterday.
Today It feels like I lost another dad..
Best,
Ken Kerner
