Cool.

It's pretty far away to me - bearing traffic, and a 7p start time, etc... in mind. I may find a way....

I predict that Eddy makes a tricky bank when the money is right.

Too far to drive for me but it has been on my DVR along with Casablanca forever.

Nostalgia just kicked in big time. Wow, if only Jackie Gleason could
be there, I would crawl all the way on my lips. What a wonderful chance
to see it again on the Big Screen.

A clip from the film at the bottom of my sig lines.

That's a great scene and it's scenes like that which make The Hustler a classic film, that is studied in film schools everywhere. Newman should have won an Oscar for his role and the Academy made up for it when he made The Color of Money.

I can not think of this movie without thoughts of Ronnie Allen coming to my mind.

I suspect that nothing in the movie was written with Ronnie in mind, but the character
or at least the general lifestyle draws my thinking back to Ronnie

Funny how I wish to see the young Ronnie playing Efren,Ronnie used to come out to
our little ranch in Celina and spend days fishing in the pond,he would join us for meals
and entertain the family with funny stories from his colorful career for many a fun evening.

At other times he poured out his heart with serious regrets on the way his life turned out,his love for his family and regret with thoughts of his divorce and missing his wife

Kinda like some greek tragedy when you think back
