He has won twice already this year in some very heavy fields. I wouldn't be quite ready to say that his game has fallen off yet, on the contrary: I think he is playing better now than he has in a very long time.

dan called me today and the tourny is going to be july 20th! bar table 10 ball ring game! 5k entry, limited to first 32 paid! i assume that is when the matlock corey match will happen! we will keep you posted!:D

This seems to be a problem. I am not sure why they would not like it. What is the advantage of it?
 
supposedly you can leave tiny gaps that will help make the 9, or help make one of the wing balls maybe.
 
Corey has gotten to the point that he knows where ALL of the balls will most likely go if he racks his own. I think that's why they started making new rules to prevent his soft break- he was basically breaking and running the same pattern too often.

Watching someone hit the break with the force of a 12 year old girl and play shape on the two ball was too much to bear...

I saw Dave out in Vegas about a week ago and this is pretty much exactly what he told me too. He said he didn't like the Internet for these reasons and I didn't post about it out of respect for him.

That makes way too much since now that you said that; when I watched him play in FL a few weeks ago he used the exact same pattern to run out the last 4-5 racks. All of a sudden it was like Deja vu, "didn't I just see the same exact out"?

I always love these comments about Coreys break. I think it started with Earl in an event several years back on the old Camel Pro Tour. My question to all the players that hate Corey's soft break is: Why don't you practice hundreds of hours studying the rack and perfecting the break? It seems to me like other players would want to take advantage of this in the same manner. The fact is that Corey is very intelligent when it comes to things like this. He told me a few years back about studying the 7 ball break for an absurd amount of time in preparation for the ESPN 7 ball challenges and sure enough he soft broke his way to a couple of 7 ball wins.

This is Bart, I am willing to drive you to the match. All you have to do is chip in for gas. I have a diesel F350 crew cab which can go roughly 600 miles on a full tank. The trip from Columbus to Olathe, Kansas is 677 miles, which is about 10 hours. A full tank of gas is roughly $90.00. So for under $100 I can get you to the game. Just let me know if you want me to drive.
