Autograph advice

Greetings,

I'm thinking about having one of the WPBA members autograph my leather cue case, and I'm wondering if anyone has a recommendation for the best writing instrument for that purpose?

Thanks.

Usually a Sharpie works best.

If it is black, one of those gold ink pens looks really good.

How about a branding iron or a wood burning tool?

I mentioned to my wife about seeing players get there cases autographed and wished that I had my case. She said "Why would you want to ruin the case with crap like that.'' Never thought about it again.

Good one.

Yeah, I hear you. As I said in my original post, "I'm thinking about..."

It wouldn't be just any player, though. It would be Allison Fisher. And I'm thinking that fact would make it a lasting treasure.

Anyway, I looked up the metallic sharpies... That looks like the way to go, if I do this.

Smart wife. :D

I personally like autographed cueballs.

Autographs

I had my 3x6 j&j signed by Johnny, and earl and as soon as I did it a regretted it. Why? Cause i din't want to cary it anymore so I had to try and find another one lol. I have that case locked down in deep storage and the only way its comming out is to add more autographs lol.

If i were to do it over again i would just go buy a cheap used case (prefferably a 4x8) and carry it only to the big tournaments and expos and what not.

When i get my jack justis no one is touching that one. but the instroke isnt expensive and its nice to show off the sigs when your at the pool hall. Ive got there sigs on cueballs also but no one sees those cause theyre at home in a case.

Really, a cue case would be one of the last things I would consider getting autographed. Way too bulky. I collected autographs for several years and prefer paper goods, maybe a cue ball in this case. Books, magazines, photos, table diagrams, posters, endorsed items, etc.

If it is gold or silver be sure to test it first. They tend to run and smear, they are hard to use.
I liked signing cases they are big, cue balls, the pros are use to signing but it did take a little practice.

Another good medium for collecting autographs is wood racks. You can get dozens on an 8-ball rack by the time you collect them around the inside and outside. I've collected autographs on everything from cases, to cues, to cue balls, to racks, to pictures, to magazines, to a chalk cube, to.......

You can't tote this one but -

We had JLee in our old store for an event.
One of the attendees offered to buy the table being used for the exhibition if she autographed it.
Easiest table sale we ever made.
