AZB Cue Calendar

Many people on here have beautiful cues. Just throwing an idea out there that I think would be pretty cool and might spark some interest. Would people want to collaborte on a 2008 AZB cue calendar? Cue collectors, makers, dealers, etc... I think we could create one of the finest caledars for 2008.

I am posting in Cue Gallary to see what pics people would share for the project.

Marcus FastnLoose - -has some of the finest Tascarella's I have seen
Ken - Highendcues - pulls out treasure pieces from time to time that make the jaw drop
Mars - Has one of the Finest Szamboti collections I have ever seen
Tate - Could be nicknamed Mr. Palmer soon with his collection

Then we have cue dealers that have some nice cues as well - cueaddicts, classiccues, cornerstone, western cue

The only problem I for see is narrowing down the cues for the 12 months... We could nominate people to narrow this down. If you are all interested... I am willing to start the pool of funds to get this done!

$500 is my contribution to the project (hopefully I can break even when all is said and done). We have talented photographers and people with connections. Anyone else interested. Any of the people I mentioned willing to share pics (believe a credit page should be part of the calendar).

Opinions?

Az calender

I'll contribute or just buy when it is done. Either way, a great idea. I have a couple nice Cantandos or I could offer a series of box cues. You will need to move fast if you want to do something for 08 though.

if not 08

let's see what happens.... If not 08' we might have a great chance to have one ready for 09'.... LOL

I will be more than happy to donate. That sounds like a very good idea.

Cue Calendar

I'd love to see that.

The one thing I'd really like to see in the calendar is the guy with the osiris/egyptian themed cue putting his cue.

Calendar

I don't have any super fancy cues but I'd be willing to chip in. It's a great idea

What I am thinking

I have a few cuemakers/collections that I definately want in this calendar. I want it to be deverse and not have duplicates of cues in months.

We have access to pics of Tascarella cues from Marcus. I can get pics of three Gus Szamboti cues but would love to get Marsman to participate with his outstanding Szamboti collection. Poolchady has a sweet Southwest collection.

If you guys know or have acces to cuecollectos that would be willing to particiapte please have them get in contact with me.

I will be sending PMs to a few our members to see if they are interested. My goal is to have a cue callendar everyone will want to look at years from now, not to make money... Also I plan on giving a FREE calendar to those cue collectors who are willing to and are asked to be involved.

Thanks to all that PM'd me so far. I think it will be difficult to have this done by year end, but we can have one bad ass calendar for 09.

What cue makers would you like to see in the calendar. I don't want this to be my favorite cuemakers. Here are a few of mine:

B. Szamboti
Searing
Tascarella
Showman
Haley
Black Boar
Manzino
DPK/Ed Young
Schick
Hercek
Gina Cue
Joss West

A "legends of cuemaking" - on a calendar that is for all 12 months . Gus Szamboti, Palmer, Balabushka, Paradise, Martin, etc.... (The most challenging since getting all these cue together can be difficult. Maybe possible at SBE 09)

I keep going back and forth on if we should month by month by cuemaker or type (Traditional cue makers, Floating points, Ivory Handle, Butterfly, Plain Jain, etc...)

Need opinions and voluntaries.
Regards,

GOTTA SEPERATE IT BY CUEMAKERS. MAYBE 2 CUEMAKERS A MONTH(SEPERATE PICS) IF YOU HAVE MORE THAN 12 CUEMAKERS TO INCLUDE.

YOU SHOULD ALSO GET PERMISSION FROM THE CUEMAKERS AS WELL AS THE COLLECTORS.

My wife works with Vendors who do such a thing... I can get with her and see what kind of pricing she can get us for a Calendar...

Will not do anything without consent

Thanks Marcus.

I will not do anything without consent of the cue collectors who participate. As for the cuemakers, I never thought of that but will ask to make sure they have no issues.

As I said before I will have a page dedicated to those who participate and credit will be given.

I can't stress enough that this is for all of us to enjoy! Not about making money. Price of calendar can be determined by those who particiapte and receive the calendars first. All money collected and bills will be available.

I have a decent job.. not planning on making money on this project!!!

Title of Calendar can be changed if Mike from AZB feels AZB should not be used. I am looking for opinions and help! Once again thanks to all!!!

Happy Holidays

If we get enough pics and can do it well I will do 18 months. I want this to be of quality. Maybe Posters can be created as well?

I am in for donating, buying the calendar and including pictures of my cues.

I like the idea of an 18 month calendar, perhaps it could start June '08 and go through Dec. '09.

Thanks

Confirmed cue collections:

Gus/Barry Szamboti Cues
Tascarella cues

I also have a few individuals who are willing to help with 1 or 2 highend cues -the goal is to somehow get these people and their cues together so a collection pic can be taken:

Haley
Showman
JW
Schick
Cantando

Thanks once again,

Also, once I have a better feel for which cuemakers and pics will be in the calendar I willl contact the cuemaker to get their view and also ask them if they want to comment on the cues that will be in the calendar. Thinking of include the comments received with the pics.

18 month calendar starting in June sounds like a great idea!!!

Hi,

I don't want to destroy the idea as a whole, but the main problem is in my opinion, that you will not only need nice cues and contributing owners, but that the owners will have to either be able to produce decent pictures themselves or be willing to find someone with the capabilities.

There have been a lot of pictures on AZ showing very decent cues, but these pictures are not of the quality needed for a larger print like 8x12".

Regards,

Detlev
