AZB Cue Calendar

Hi,

I don't want to destroy the idea as a whole, but the main problem is in my opinion, that you will not only need nice cues and contributing owners, but that the owners will have to either be able to produce decent pictures themselves or be willing to find someone with the capabilities.

There have been a lot of pictures on AZ showing very decent cues, but these pictures are not of the quality needed for a larger print like 8x12".

Regards,

Detlev

I thought of that. If the cue collectors are in the Tri State area I have a friend that could take pics - he is a semi professional photographer. If others are capable of taking quality pics or access to have them taken that would be great. If I feel the cues are worth it, I will pay for professional photographer.

Thanks for your thoughts and possible concerns I might encounter

Yes, Yes, Yes!!

I'm in, that is great idea. I'm sure the professionals on this forum would love to have thier cues on my wall, and many others. Keep us posted, cues are beautiful to look at. You don't need to have an 8 X 12, you could have 2 8 X 6's, or 4 4 X 6s. The pics wouldn't be as big but there would be more pics and more cues. You could have various formats on each month. Overall it is a great idea. I would love to have a calendar of cues on my wall!!

Don't leave out Chris Tate and his Palmer collection. He has photos already done. I'm sure he would participate.

Considering Meet and Greet

Would people be interested in meeting at a preassigned pool room to have pics taken of their cues with others from the same maker? If we have enough people in an area with cues from a certain maker we can set up an event at a local pool room. Have a photographer come out and take pics?

Please post the cue you would like to have considered and where you are? If you have a pic great.

Access to 3 Gus Szamboti's (wish they were mine), One Barry Szamboti (Mid Jan - I hope), 70's traditional JW. I am from North Jersey.

I can get some good ones to you to use if you wish. I have some pretty good multiple cue photo's, attractive for wall art like a calender.

Thanks Tate

I will PM you my email address. Please send me what you would like to share.

BTW once I have gathered enough pics I will ask all that particiapted to provide feedback and comments. It will then be forwarded for publish.

I would love a calendar like this. As I can't offer any cue collection for assistance, I will offer my 2 cents.

If a 12 month calendar is done, it might be interesting to have dual photos or a side-by-side photo for each month. This would get 24 cues in the calendar, and I would love to see an old:new theme. Each page could have an example of a classic cuemaker and one of our prime candidates from the current era.

WE CAN GLADLY USE MY ROOM FOR THE MEET AND GREET FOR THE NORTHEAST.

500 calendars

OK minimum order from first vendor is 500. So that is what I am going to go with as I believe I am going to be shelling out some cash if I want to see this done. I have also decided to make it 18 months.

We will have pic of cue collection on top and a black and white transparent image of cues behind the actual calendar on bottom.

Thanks Marcus about use of room. I will try my best to make this happen. Tascarella fans and owners here is your time to see some great cues and visit a great room (so I have been told;) )

BTW I just picked up a Burton Spain with original paperwork (should have by next week). I really want a dedication page to past greats. So people with Balabushka's, Harvey Martin, Gus Szamboti, Burton Spain, and others I might have missed please let me know if you are interested.

If you have quaility pics you would like to share please post.

THE ROOM IS SMALL BUT FUN. I HAVE A GREAT GROUP OF REGULARS.

I CAN GET MY HANDS ON SOME OTHER HIGHER END OLDER STUFF AS WELL. LET ME KNOW WHAT GAPS YOU NEED TO FILL AND I'LL SEE WHAT I CAN DO.

I wish I could contribute some pictures for it but none of my cues are nice enough to get in (maybe for the 2027 edition....) so all I can promise is to buy at least two copies of it.....

Design Help

I'm new here but think this is a great idea and would love to have one also. I have no cues to contribute but would gladly give my design services if needed. I'm a graphic designer by trade and would be happy to design the layout and do all pre-production work for printing.

I think it would be great to have a bio of an old and new cuemaker and there work on each month. Kind of a new school versus old school feel. A small pic of the cuemaker a small write up and then examples of their work. Or maybe have a good group shot of a certain maker's cues on top and then in the bottom right hand corner do a write-up and pic.

I Have A Friend That Has A Great Assembly Of James White's Cues. He Has Also Agreed To Provide Photos.

I am very interested in this calendar. I have a lot of design experience and would be glad to help in any way. I will definitely be glad to buy a couple of calendars as well when they come out. I have a couple of cues that might be fun to include. However, I'm not sure if they fit the criteria for what you want. Two of these will be finished in January '08. I'll be glad to include whatever cues/help I can to get this project going.

Also, even though this is an 18-month calendar. Are you thinking of doing another calendar to follow up each one? Is this a continuous thing or a once every so often thing? I would be more than happy to help keep the calendars coming!! Let me know what I can do!!

If you need a low end Schick you can always use mine> LOL
and I'm going to need a calender as well for my home
thanks Chris
