The AZB rep system is such that basically every single person out there has full green bars. It is largely meaningless but it also gives a false impression of a person actually being a reputable person when they have full green bars.
People like Trent on the recent couple threads where he ripped off a guy for wood he sent to have a cue built and money sent to build that cue. He has basically been one of the least reputable people AZB has seen, but as of right now AZB states
That is simply wrong, and a new user to this forum a few months from now that is not aware of the history and the current threads could be duped by that into thinking Trent actually IS a upstanding guy, send him some money to get a cue built, and get ripped off. All because they thought that maybe the AZB rep system actually meant something... That is not right IMO and it needs to be fixed.
We also have people like SC5 who start new accounts and cross-rep themselves to get up their rep status and who then try to get bets with people and rip people off. This rep system that AZB currently has makes it simple, it takes very little effort to get a new account to look like it has all the rep in the world.
The rep system needs to be set up so that getting a full green rep bar takes more then a single +rep from one person. It needs to be set up so that negative rep when people screw up actually has a large effect and allows the AZB members to hammer someone into the red and thus act as a warning to anyone who might in the future come across that person and think about doing business with them.
Rep should be slow to come by and the trust it gives earned slowly. It should also be quick to be lost when someone screws people over as Trent did. I cannot imagine he has not been hammered by alot of negative rep, but given the AZB system in place it does not help and he could still dupe anyone new to the forum who did not think to do a search on his name and luck into finding one of the two threads.

Trent has a reputation beyond repute
