B.J. Ussery ????

Bizarre...doesn't seem like the proper body type for that, though you never know.

I recently read Danny Basavich had one, perhaps the 2 were crossed in the story?

Body type has ZERO to do with it. I very recently lost a friend, a very fine player named Shane McGill. He was younger than BJ and very slim & fit. He dropped dead in his fathers driveway. I'll make a few calls in a bit when the rooms open.

Mostly the table in my home.;) But if I venture out...Rack Em in Matthews is the nicest, cleanest room you'll ever see. Clean balls & fresh Simonis every 90 days. Let me know when your headed this way...I'll make time.;)

BJ comes to my bar in Kernersville often. Haven't heard anything about it! I'm gonna give him a call today!

Just called his phone but all I got was his voicemail. I will keep trying!
Please let us know. I made few calls but no one has seen him or knows anything. He's a tremendous young player with a bright future ahead of him.

I am trying to get a number for his mom, and gonna call his work. I am anxious to know. BJ has played on several teams with me and used to teach me on a weekly basis. Hope he is ok!

just got off the phone with BJ and yes he did have a heart attack, but he is doin ok! Will be back to pool as soon as he feels better! He says Thank You for the concern!

I'm so sorry to hear this news! BJ is a terrific person and a great talent on the table. Hope and pray this doesn't slow him down and he quickly and fully recovers.
Dan

Such a sweet guy, after kicking my butt in a local weekend tournament, he helped me with my break! Pretty easy on the eyes too ;)...glad to hear he is doing okay. Get well soon B.J.!

I heard about him having a heart attack about a month ago. I'm pretty sure of it. (unless he's had another one?) He's a nice guy, with a lot of talent. I hope he comes back 100%.

Rick S.

What a shame, I hope he recovers quickly. He is a great guy, takes time to talk to anyone about the game and isn't afraid to put up his own cash. Straight up kind of guy with a lot of heart, I hope the one in his chest is as strong as the one in his personality.

I wish him a full and speedy recovery.

That is good to hear. I used to work/play at b.g.mcgees years ago. I remember when he was beginning to play. I was kinda on top of my game at one point but he really got good quick! It was amazing how good he had gotten in such a short period of time. If you see him playing you can count on a true match. No funny stuff. BJ is a true gambler with heart.:)

Shane McGill passed? Was his nickname Sugar Shane from the P.A area? If so I played him a few times nice kid my condolences

Wow, he is a young guy to suffer something like that. I feel for him.

Good player too. If I remember right, he grips the cue a bit higher than normal, which makes for a very controlled accurate stroke.
