D-Sub, if you read my post, I did ask Marcus to be our escrow. After a few PMs, Manny PM me back and said that he contact Marcus and will get the cue overnight to Marcus right away. I told Manny that I would love to pay for the postage to get it to Marcus and back to me and pay for Marcus time for escrow and review.D-Sub said:

So, escrow was used. Just fussing about the hoops Manny made me jump through when he had no intention to mail the cue.

how fast it happened was what got me! i can see doing enough green to make it netural but not so many that he looks like the az're of the year!
for real there are now enough threads about this guy that rep points or i trader shouldn't matter any more.
When Barrosm left a fraudulent i-trader report as retaliation for a post slamming him no one seemed to care. Abuse of a system designed to give accurate feedback of transactions here on AZ should have never been tolerated.

No, you don't need someone that knows cues. Did you go to the site?
Obviously not, or you would have known that there's an inspection period. If the buyer doesn't like what he sees, he returns the goods and funds are released back to him. Simple.
Sure, a specialized middle-man would be great, but escrow.com has an established, bonded reputation.
You didn't hear back from the mods for multiple reasons. What happens if a cue gets damaged in your possession? Are you licensed as an escrow service?
Don't mean to be critical but...you shot down a perfectly viable solution without even knowing the details.
