Bad review for Diamond

I told my brother that I wanted the triangle wooden rack made by Diamond for my birthday. I had no idea it would be such a pain. First off, you can't order anything online from the website which seems completely ridiculous. Secondly, my brother has put in 7 phone calls to Diamond. Each time the receptionist says that she'll transfer him to this other guy in sales. 5 voicemails have been left for this guy without 1 response. The receptionist says that she cannot take the order and it has to go through this sales guy who refuses to return our phone calls.

Should it be this freaking hard to order a $40 rack?!! Maybe that's the reason I'm getting the runaround, because I'm only placing a $40 order. If that's the case then make it so you can buy products online. I was so frusturated with the situation I just told my brother to go to pooldawg and get the delta 13 rack. It's not my first choice but at least you could buy it without all the hassle. Diamond billiards makes great pool tables but in my experience their customer service leaves something to be desired.

I have delt with Diamond on many occasions and they have always been very helpful. If you catch them during one of their big tourneys it might slow them down abit but thats because they throw %100 at it.

Sorry to here about your trouble because it is a great rack.

I don't know specifically when you had this experience, but if it was in the last two weeks the problem might have been that Diamond has been prepping and dealing with the logistics of the Derby City Classic, currently underway in Louisville. I don't know this as fact, but it has always been my impression that for the DCC -- a huge three-ring week long pool circus -- it is "all hands on deck" for the crew at Diamond -- they seem to be all there from Greg Sullivan on down (I'm surprised you got the receptionist :-) So that may be the issue.

This is really ironic because I called Delta and ordered a pool table and they have yet to get back to me.

All kidding aside, I've been doing business with Diamond for the past 10 months and have been extremely impressed with them. Admittedly, this is from a poolroom's perspective but they have gone above and beyond each and every time. They are passionate about pool, about their product and show the utmost concern for their customers.

I don't know a lot about their accessory business although I would imagine the overwhelming majority of their sales of accessories are sold with pooltables. This might explain why purchasing a rack can be so difficult for you although I don't know for certain.

If you're still interested in purchasing a Diamond rack, please PM me. I'll make a few calls and see if there's anything I can do to help.

Well you will unhappy with the Delta-13 I know that for sure. They sure look good though.

Good for you! I think the power of having a community like this is realized with posts like this.

I bought 4 decal stickers from them for only 8 bucks and got it 3 days later... I don't think its because your forking up so little money

All hands on Deck at the DCC

Every swing D#&K that works for Diamond is on the DCC deck making things go smoother than last year.

You may want to look at that Slug Doctor tight rack system. I am ordering one next week. Look to be pretty good.

If you go with the lower priced Delta-13 rack (@$40) it also doubles as a dinner-bell!!!

FWIW - I have two Diamond Racks, and just ordered and got the Delta 13 Elite. I LOVE my Delta, and it racks WAY tighter than my Diamonds ever did.

Also, since it is metal, it won't wear down like the Diamond rack does. The only thing I really miss is I loved the groove on the back of the Diamond rack so that I could ensure that the rack was lined up and squared to the table correctly.

MUCH better breaks than the Diamond. That said, I have a Diamond Pro, a Diamond light and two of their racks, they are an AWESOME company, and I have never had any problems with them.

I just prefer the Delta Rack far better. Call Delta, ask for Terry, GREAT guy.

Seriously guys, yeah Diamond is busy with the Derby but really, there is no one at home that can respond to a guy wanting to place a simple order for a rack? If that's the case why does the receptionist put his calls through to the sales department 7 times?

I think the OP may have just had bad timing, just a guess. I've dealt with Diamond several times, one of them happened to be a time I ordered a Diamond Rack. Every time including that, the experince was great and timely.

As many others mentioned here, I'm sure the past month has been nuts for them and I hope folks would understand that..
