Balabushka ?

I posted in the other thread that I remember this set being sold on ebay before. It was sold as a Scruggs. It came with that blue case which is a Meucci case.

I've had a bunch of Richard Black's in the past 6 or 7 years and I dont think it is one. Older ones and newer ones. Something about the shaft collar doesn't look right to me.

Man, somebody is convinced it is something special, Like you said Jayman...Wow!!

i have 3 Real bushkas here with me in LA right now, i'm gonna look at them and have this cue on the screes, a 24" 16:9 LCD so I can see thr pics real good. The nickel or nickle rings look to skinny the other thing is the notches in the diamonds dont look wide enough either, give me a few hours and i'll check, i'm also going to measure the length and width of the diamonds on the cues I have-the length isnt doublw the width of the diamonds on a bushka-on this cue for sale they look like they are say 10mmX5mm which is a 2:1 ratio, that isnt right, later today i'll do a examanation and see, my guy tells me it isnt a bushka, but the seller is honest(or appears to be) I dont know anything about Ebay, no matter what it is its well made.

Just out of curiosity, I asked the seller if the bumper was brown or black. She sent me these pics:

I missed that, I had started this post about twelve hours ahead of you'r thread, so most of these pool bums were still sleeping it off. :) I find it unlikely that richard black would not mark it. I'm sure he would want the credit for his hard work?

Jayman.

Excuse me, but I own the trademark for that on this board http://forums.azbilliards.com/showthread.php?t=88382. You owe me $1 or a Tiangle tip that was licked by the Black Widow.

Screw is wrong for a BalaB

Posatively wrong. Szam maybe Scruggs yup!
Nick :)

Maybe someone can clear this up...

for me. I was under the impression the BEM Balabushka used in this style cue always had one eye in each pannel. I also noticed that one of the Ivory half circle inlays looks off center. This doesn't seem like the work Balabushka would do,or Szamboti. Anyone want to straighten me out on these points?

i was just about to say the same thing. the bottom half circle in one of the pics is almost touching the corner of the box and on the other side is 3 times as far away. i am telling you someone is going to be pissed when they find out it isnt a bushka or szam. up to 3500 and I am feeling sorry for someone already.:( :D

real bidding, real buyer????????? MAYBE NOT....

ok heres the give aways...isnt it odd that this person never shows the bumper of this cue...kind of like intentionally ...look at the shaft wood around the brass insert....doesnt that look awful new....also when george did this style of cue the blocks where not centered they set up high closer to the wrap look at your second edition blue book in the picture of the anatomy of a cue...the block color doesnt look right, looks like micarta or holly, the silver nickel rings are 2 thin odd veneer colors ....but ive been wrong before i am 90% sure it is a black
