I'm shocked that people aren't more sympathetic for Danny.

I was also shocked how a Pro player came on here recently and flaunted how he owed someone money and that poor guy who the pro owes got little sympathy either!

Well, this pool forum is just like a real pool hall, it's a dog it dog place.

Full of some of the seediest, selfish, unloving, dishonest people on earth.

I'm not saying that all of the people here fit that description, but lots of them do. Go to your local pool hall, get into the underground scene and behind the scenes and transfer all of that here, its all the same people, same attitudes.... etc....

It's his attitude. How many of us would let something like this ruin our lives and careers?

He also did nothing legally to collect - which lets the Brady's of the world go on stiffing people like him.

You're right, Tate, in that it's a compound fracture, and nobody wins.

Though Brady is a friend of mine, I definitely understand Danny's stance in this regard. It is expensive to attend these pool tournaments, e.g., entry fee, hotel, travel, food on the road, et cetera. Most players feel fortunate if they can break even, much less turn a profit playing pool competitively. In this regard, I feel bad for Danny.

One thing for sure, this forum ain't going to solve the problem at all. In fact, each time it is brought up, it inflames the entire situation with no remedy in sight. :frown:

Danny, you have my support............

If a player had a cue stolen 7 yrs. ago and decided to post the picture of the cue would you consider him to be whining also. The last time I checked this is a public forum, all I know is this is not a gambling debt and the tournament was sanctioned by the UPA ( a governing body that is designed to help pro pool - what a joke). Brady Behrman did not pay my entry, plane ticket, and or any other expenses that I had. The way I see it this is money that was stolen from me and this is a public forum that Brady disgraced when he lied to the forum members saying that he had sent me two money orders for $1,000.00 a piece when he had not pushed even a penny in my direction. I understand that accidents happen, I WAS patient for many yrs. with Brady my patience has reached an end. While I did appreciate Blackjack's wanting to help calm the storm between Brady Behrman, the UPA and myself - I feel he used poor judgment when he said that "I had not handled the situation well" or that I had made some mistakes in reguards to the money owed to me from Behrman or the UPA. I no longer compete at the US Open as the promoters son who owes me exactly $850.00 has not paid me and does not seem to care about keeping his word or maybe he has just compartmentalized it and chooses not to be held accountable for keeping his word. I am tired of players being owed money from a professional pool tournamentand then if they know the right people then you can get paid. The US Open happens every year, I will make a post about this untill Brady pays me what he owes. That is the reason this world is turning to shit, people give their word and it really means very little to them. Well not to me, I may have some faults but my word is my bond and if I owe someone $ I will dig a ditch or whatever I have to do to get them paid. So welcome to the real world Sean sometimes we have to correct the neg. so we can move on. When Brady is ready to correct the situation between he and I then I will move on. If you don't like hearing about how the real world works in pool tournaments and pro players not getting paid then don't read or respond. I will continue to post despite the fact that I was told not to aggrevate the situation as the Behrmans may be connected or whatever, I am not afraid and will continue to post about Brady Behrman untill he pays me what is owed. From what I see about you Sean is your just another intellectual moron that wants to try and impose your will where it's not welcome. So again this is a public forum and I will once again extend my offer to Brady in that if he wants to settle this dispute - he can. JAM acts as if Brady is poor and can't pay, this could not be any futher from the truth. He drives around ion a brand new Corvette so I don't think he is poor - just another know it all that could care less at paying what he owes.

I for one give my word that I will not play in any tournament connected to this until Danny is paid.

My word like Danny's does mean something.

If this person or persons affiliated run another tournament it would be so great if all the players boycott the tourny.

I guarantee if this happened Danny would get paid by someone immediately.

Kind of like when people are on strike and someone crosses the picket line.

We all need to stick together with things like this.

Danny is not the problem here but he is a victim. This is really tragic.

Basically, it's flat out stealing:help:

I have spoken to industry members who read this forum on a daily basis, but they never post because they do not want to feel compelled to reply to a post directed at them or quoting their posts.

They still read though, so at least we're not a total waste of time.

Your bank or company owes you money, that's one thing. Your business partner owes you dough, that's another. A friend, or perhaps a family member owes you, something else there. Pool tournament or money game debt...

He spent money to get hosed, that's right up there imho.

I feel really bad for you Danny. Do whatever you gotta do to get that money.

What he said.

Danny is owed money, simple as that.

Stop hassling Danny for making this subject public like it should be.

What he said, too.

I'm shocked that people aren't more sympathetic for Danny.

People are, which is why not many are jumping all over him for bumping this thread, I think. NOMB, but I'll add this post to show that people do agree.

Well, this pool forum is just like a real pool hall, it's a dog it dog place.

I just had to quote this.. Freudian slip? :D

I don't know if he's letting it run or ruin his life, but I sure as hell wouldn't drop it if it were me. I've let people cost me a grand when they seriously needed the help more than I needed the money, but I'll bird-dog an SoB if he owes me $100 and thinks he can play me for a chump.

I guarantee if this happened Danny would get paid by someone immediately.

And, finally, what he said as well.

Banks;3756501 He spent money to get hosed said:
No it's not -- it was a pool tournament. I almost expect to get hosed, one way or the other. Given the history of the sport you'd have to be a fool to expect otherwise. And for some of these event (not all) -- to come out ahead, or even get the dough advertised -- is a near miracle.

<yawn>. You know, for someone who cries the "world hates me and nobody seems to notice" lament, you sure have a HUGE number of blind spots in your field of vision. For example, it was already pointed out to you that the statue of limitations for correcting this "malfeasance" against you ran out LONG AGO. Let me reprhase that... L-O-N-G A-G-O. Forget about actually *doing something* about it; the time you could've used to erect an effective battle cry to garner others on your side, you instead WASTED doing who-knows-what. You could've at least expended a bit of effort -- maybe even used legal assistance -- to get the resolution you needed against these "omg, well-known leeches" of pool players.

Instead, what do you do? Nothing. No-f'ing-thing!! Except wait an inordinate amount of time -- time well beyond what would be considered even a lackadaisical expenditure of effort for the most ardent couch potato -- and only then, post a "the world hates me" gripe long after the time window for pursing resolution of something like this has long passed you by.

Oh, let me guess. You "stumbled" across this long-dead thread, and said to yourself, "oh yeah, I forgot about that one(!) -- let me see if I can resurrect some old spirits and try to fill at least one of the many voids in my life by getting this one-of-manies resolved -- if even to merely bend a couple ears"?

This is not a wont of mine to impose my will, Danielster. This is someone trying to throw cold water on your in-drunken-stupor face, trying to wake you up. Reviving old threads -- w-a-y past the statute of limitations for even hoping to get resolution -- is a sign of nothing more than a child whimpering in the corner that he only now noticed his bike was stolen while he was fully engrossed in gambling when tossing quarters against the wall.

Grow up.

Got anything positive to say, that will help Danny get his money?

No?

I'm sure you know what I am going to say after you answer "no" right?

Take that advice that you know I was going to say but did not.....

Lou,

You need to move to the Northeast and play on the Joss Northeast Nine Ball Tour. Been playing for over ten years. Never once heard of a player not being paid. Never heard of all the money advertised not being paid out. Maybe we do have it good up here .

How's this: "Danny, STFU you whiny loser and get a friggin job"

Sure working will make you money, but I'm talking about getting paid what he is owed....

I'm sure he might play you some, and then we would see who would be the whining loser?

Geez, another post from another AZ member who has all the answers. Lots of tack also.

Winning, losing, pool is a game to me. I guess that's what differentiates successful people and delusional pool fanatics. Successful people have jobs and play the game of pool for enjoyment - we enhance our lives by playing pool. Delusional "pro pool players" like Danny Harriman are desperate misfits who b!tc#, moan and whine when they lose or when their ever so important tournament folds and they don't get their tournament [welfare] check.

Danny Harriman, suck it up and get a friggin' job. Loser.

What differentiates successful people from pool fanatics? Not caring about winning or losing?

That makes no sense. Not caring about winning or losing in pool has nothing to do with your success outside of pool.

It just tells me that you don't care, or at least you "say" you don't care one way or the other, which I highly doubt in all honesty.

Sound more like a cover or good excuse when you do lose.

Why do you consider yourself successful?

What makes you think you are successful in life?

Just curious?

how much money was Danny stiffed, anyone?

I believe he mentions it at the start of this thread.

I don't think its lots, maybe a grand or so?

Not life changing money, but a grand is a grand, it'll buy lots of food or gas or whatever.........

I think it's the principle of the thing that makes him so upset, that a pool promoter would get away with this in the public eye and also supposedly lie in the public eye about the money being in the mail?

Either way, it's not my deal, but if I were Danny, I would make a stink about it also......... especially if I thought it would help get the money.

<...yawn...>

Oh, I get it -- *we* are supposed to help Danny get his money? We are supposed to fight his battles? Puh-leeze.

Here's an example of what I'm talking about: there's a well-known lawyer who posts here (he's an avid pool player and 14.1 enthusiast). This lawyer even represented the ABP to "help get their money" -- or at least address the continuing problems of getting paid on time, which was the impetus for the birth of the ABP in the first place. This lawyer effected changes that satisfied the ABP, to the point that the ABP itself no longer exists.

Did Danny even *try* to contact this lawyer and consult with him of the timestamp of this writing? I'm betting "no."

No, he'd rather whine and complain to anyone within earshot, instead of picking himself up by the bootstraps and actually doing something about it. In fact, he didn't even do a good job of whining -- he waited *7 years* (long after his window to even use legal means to help expedite the resolution) to "resume" his whining!

How about this...... It's best for you to not say anything at all.

If you have nothing of USE to contribute in a positive way, without showing your disdain for Danny which it seems you obviously have, then it's best just not to say anything.

My God, what is it with people today?

Is it age? Lack of discipline? Upbring, no father? What?

No compassion, no encouragement, no love, just hatred and negativeness.

Man, that stuff is not good for your health.
