Bartram vs Morris

Someone, JAM, anybody, paste a link in this thread where Chris "dissed" Keith or any other legend that came before him.

If I recall, Vette posted a thread "Who would win" --- and I know that elicited some emotion, but it wasn't a "dis" - just an open discussion (and Chris didn't start it).

I also recall Bartram mentioned he thought Alex would beat Keith in his prime... which might be a "dis" if you're dating Keith, but it's not being disrespectful. He's only stating his opinion, which is fine.

Is it being disrespectful to say Tiger would have beaten Nicklaus in his prime? No, who cares. It's only hypothetical discussion.

I really don't know Chris outside of what he posts here and I'm constantly reading about how Chris trashes legends who came before him. I read this forum as much as any human being because I enjoy it a lot. If I missed something, someone point me to the right thread so I can get up-to-date on this "trashing" thing.

JAM, show me where he's trashing Keith (I'm asking with complete respect, btw). I read 2 or 3 times where Chris said he felt he could beat Keith now, but he had no chance of beating Keith in his prime. To me, the reader, that shows respect since everyone knows Keith plays poker now and isn't into pool the way he once was. I'm curious how much of his "dissing" are really rebuttals to a gf aggressively defending her bf (which is fine, btw).

If I was dating Allison Fisher and she hypothetically didn't play anymore and some young chick was talking about how she could beat her now, but never in her prime, I'd get defensive too----- but don't confuse that with direct disrespect to your significant other - it might be direct disrespect to the original poster after a defensive response.

So I just read Chris mentioned Cole didn't win a game when they played - that's not trashing Cole - it's probably the truth. Doesn't mean Chris is being a dickhead towards anyone.

Someone clue me in... I'm just really lost. To me, Bartram has never been anything but respectful.

Spider, you know as good as I do that Chris hasn't demeaned Keith in any way, nor has 99% of the people that have ever brought his name up on this forum. I challenge anyone to find one instance where I have said one bad word about Keith McCready, it won't happen. I have given him nothing but respect as I feel he was a great player.

The problem is that anytime somebody expresses an opinion that is different than Jam's, she takes it as a personal attack and then goes off for no apparent reason and cries the victim role. Same old song and dance. In this thread, even after she said that she thought and hoped that Rodney would bbq Chris, he was a complete gentleman and said he might get beat but he would try his best.

Another funny thing about this whole thread is that it's in the Vbookie section, lmao. What exactly can VCash buy? Jam, if you are interested in betting on Rodney then I will bet the $1000 that you just won on the Kentucky Derby and I'll take Chris even though I was gonna bet a little on Rodney.

How can you say you're not comfortable gambling with CB. He rarely passes on a game giving or getting weight. And oh btw, the dough is always posted!

Here is the thread that started it all.

I will not offer my opinion. You can read for yourself. To save a little trouble, just start at JAM's post number 50 ... although another guy was provoking JAM; before this Chris Bartrum had not said anything yet.

Yes, Alex is a run-out machine, and he would not have had a prayer to beat Keith even when Keith was in his prime on the bar table at any game. When Alex and Keith played at the DCC, Alex was in his prime, Keith was hitting 50 years of age. Alex was 23 years old. Alex would not have liked playing 23-year-old Keith one bit.

Compare apples to apples and oranges to oranges.

Then Chris Bartrum posted his opinion on post 74.

on a 9 ft alex would rob a 23 year old keith.
wow not even close.

There is much more, but I will let everyone make their own opinion.

Is posting conjecture on who would rob who disrespecting someone? If I said, "I think Irving Crane would rob Thorsten at 14.1"--- am I disrespecting Thorsten? I wouldn't think so. It's like unless you pump someone up, it's a "DIS." If Chris feels Alex would run over Keith-of-old, so be it. It's only conjecture... which happens in sports all of the time.

Since I'm a UFC fan, I'll use this analogy with Ken Shamrock. Ken isn't 20% the fighter he once was and nearly every elite fighter can beat him (and would state so); however, ALL of the fighters have deep admiration / respect for the guy for making the game for what it is today and for being "the worlds most dangerous man" at one time. Would he have beaten Lyoto, Rashad or Anderson? PSH - who knows. Guess away. What about Royce vs. Anderson? Guess some more.

I'm still yet to read Chris "dogging" Keith and sticking Keith's face in shit. Stating who-would-beat-who isn't disrespectful, it's only an opinion and should be taken as such. It's a shame it can't be left at that.

Dave

FWIW.... I'm one of Keith's BIGGEST fans. Whoever he plays, I'm on his rail. I've spent a decent amount of time with the guy in Reno and he is the BEST. I'm stating this because I don't want anyone to think I'm a Chris ass-hog. I just think he's unfairly labeled by JAM and a few others.

There are some members of this forum who have multiple identities. As such, they are banned members posting today.

You have no idea of how much damage was created from what has been referenced above. I cannot elaborate on the public forum, but it's not over yet.

Is posting conjecture on who would rob who disrespecting someone? ....

It was the crew of forum bullies, friends of Chris Bartram's, and banned members posting that was the most troublesome, which all occurred well after the initial "robbing" comment.

It's all fun and games for you, isn't it, Chris? Glad to see you enjoying yourself on the forum. If this is what it takes for you to get your jollies, then go for it. True colors will prevail.

Yes, so true. Some people don't know when to let things die. They enjoy stirring the pot, all in an effort to hurt and/or anger others. It seems to be the only reason why they come to this forum. It gives them pleasure to hurt other people's feelings. Pool is only an afterthought.

I was actually talking to you. I remember saying this before but not everything is said to anger/hurt you. That is how YOU take what they say. YOU are assuming that is how they meant it. Just because someone says they think someone else can beat Keith at pool doesn't mean that Keith is a bad guy. It just means that the person thinks Keith can be beat at the GAME of pool. Anyways, I probably should have kept my nose out of this. Good luck.

I am not the only one who interpreted the remarks in a negative manner.

There is a lot more to this than you may know. It is not as simple as somebody expressing an opinion that someone saying that somebody else can beat Keith.

I remember how upset you were when members of this forum spoke negatively about a picture you posted on this forum. You were enraged, I think would be the right word.

Multiple that by 10, and that's how I feel today, after what has already transpired previously. And to see it continue, knowing how much anger and hurt it caused, as if it's a game, is disgusting.

Good luck to you too.

Im glad that Chris doesn't take others' opinions personally. I've seen a lot of people including myself that voiced their opinions of his being the underdog in various matches and he just takes it in stride and says he may win or may lose but he'll damn sure be in there betting his own money and betting high in every match.

I'm glad he doesn't get depressed or endear unimaginable hurt and dispair when someone says he can't beat somebody else. He just shrugs it off and says "that may be your opinion but I think I can beat them and I'll certainly play".

I, along with others, gave him some good natured ribbing (and a lot of it) after he played Stevie. Instead of getting mad he just took it because he knew it was just part of it and then went and played his next high stakes match.

His name was brought into this thread FIRST as being thought of as the underdog and even getting BBQ'd and now its turned into (as it always does) about something completely different and about one persons' personal forum to play the victim role whenever possible even though nothing has been done to warrant it. Sad really.

I remember that too. The biggest difference that I see is that in 3+ years of being on here - that is the only time that has ever happened and I have ever felt that way. I didn't like the way I felt so I choose not to react or feel that way anymore.
