Not when pool players are labeled as fools.
I may stand in the minority, but I will defend a professional pool player's choice in life until the day I die. I believe it is their right to choose whatever pursuit in life they wish. To demean them is a whole lot worse than the "nit-calling."

No one ever labeled pool players as fools, Jennie. I read the whole thread. Blackjack's story was posted as a point that there are two paths to take - it wasn't meant in a literal sense.
I mean, if he hypothetically called pool players 'fools' --- he's calling himself, and everyone who posts here an idiot. I'm confident that wasn't his intention.
I also don't think anyone is attacking a professional pool player's choice in life... i.e. living on the "road," fighting to make a buck, playing world-beaters just to pay for a meal and hotel room. Everyone is lying here if they haven't:
A) Wanted to go on the road (either as a player, stake horse, or ride-along) sometime in their life.
B) Went on the road for a period of time
C) Went on the road, and will do it again in the future
I think the moral of the story is, if you fit into category B or C - we all envy you. However, at the same time, don't report back about how life is so tough--- because everyone knows there's an alternative of "PLAN B:"
*** Getting a full time job and clocking in for a pay check. Nowhere near as glamorous, but the odds of the paycheck arriving on Friday is a "lock."
I hope this makes sense. No one is calling pool players fools when they're not complaining. I in no way am referring to you or Keith specifically - I'm only saying this in the most general way.

Dave
