Been Caught Stealing? Who is this Guy?

I guess I'd have to say that I feel sorry for his wife, family and friends and here's why. It looks like up until now he's either pretended to be a pretty stand up type of guy with his local teams, church, and friends. Or maybe he really has been a pretty stand up guy up til now and just for some reason gave in to the urge to just take something that maybe he's had on his "want" list for some time. Either way, the people around him must have been totally blind sided with the news of his actions, and that has to hurt.
Never had my cue stolen completely, but I have caught somebody 'close' to stealing it by mistaking it for a house cue, and to confront a guy that is in the process of stealing your personal pride and joy, and to have him lie his way out of it was a feeling I can't even put into words. The only word I could spit out was "punk!"
But, for the friends and family that surround the punk, I hope that he learns the lesson, and does whatever he needs to do to try to earn the trust and respect of the people around him that he's hurt.

Maybe he needs to be bubba's cell mate for a night to get the fear of stealing cheap sh@t and be a stand up guy

Yeah Grand Larceny in a Vegas casino is a very serious situation. Even through out Clark county Grand Larceny is a crime with serious maximum penalties!! :withstupid:

Please Mike, don't let this guy off easy! Make sure they PROSECUTE him to the fullest extent of the law! It will send a loud, clear message to other similar minded perps. He will be looking at some real time in Nevada for a crime of this nature committed inside a casino. Years, not months!

I am betting he does under a year but most likely probation.

if he can't afford an atorney, his court appointed public defender could easily work out a plea agreement. i'm thinking he'll get probation/fine plus community service.

oh, and no dunkin' donuts for a year.
^cruel and unusual but this'll teach him.

I can relate, and I'm sure almost every serious player that's been around pool rooms long enough has a similar story. A few years ago I was playing in an 8 ball tourny at Rusty's in Arlington, Tx. and we had finished the warmup session and I had laid my cue down on the table and was sitting in a chair next to the table waiting for the tourny director to start calling out the match's when a young lady walked by my table and just as casually as you please reached over and picked up my cue and started walking off with it, I said to myself "Oh Hell No" and went after her. When I caught up to her I told her that was my personal cue, not a House Cue and if she wanted to play with it, it would cost her $800.00, of course she apologized profusely and said she didn't know it was someones personal cue.

Whether it's a $100.00 Sneaky Pete or a $1000.00 Custom Cue, when you go into a pool room keep your eyes on your stuff, if you go to the restroom take your cue with you, or have a "Very Trusted Friend" to watch your stuff. Many like this guy Derek will try to do a quick grab, and some like the young lady that grabbed my cue may just not know the difference between a house cue and someones expensive personal cue! as they are there on a date night and may not frequent pool rooms that often.

i officially don't want anything to do with this thread, its in the laws hands now and i don't want zero responsibility if this guy isn't stable and goes over the edge ... you guys do what you want ... i said my peace.

I just tried to take a look at this guys Facebook page to see how many friends he had left and all the links to his page came back "Page Not Found"
LMAO they shut his Facebook page down!

Alright someone explain to me what the NPR is. They seem like a bunch of self-righteous dicks but please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong seeing as I don't know anything about them.

Non Pool Related forum right here on AZBilliards.

But you knew that, didn't you? How could you have such a negative opinion of the posters there without knowing anything about it? You couldn't.

Anyone else have a problem with my posting here on this thread?

Yeah it seems that the age old "I'm sorry, I thought it was a house cue" excuse is just enough of a grey area that it's hard to prove either way. In my case, there were six hispanic guys on the table next to me. I returned from breaking the rack to find my cue gone. Looked around and saw one of the guys on the table next to me sitting in a chair with it. So, because of the fact that he wasn't exactly on his way out the door with it, I couldn't be totally sure he was trying to take the cue. Grey area.

Speaking of Meucci's and getting away with a crime one time on the way to the poolhall I passed by a car in the parking lot with the back window down. In the backseat he had a real nice Meucci looked new with 2 shafts black dots even! I looked around, saw nobody was looking, so i chucked my Meucci in with his lot and ran. Owner popped out of nowhere, apparently he was hiding watching everything. He grabbed both cues and chased after me trying to give me back my cue along with his but i was too fast.
That thars funny. :p

Its the section where you see the same political bashing posts of dems and repubs over and over and over.... Most of them never cross over into the other forums and some probably dont even realize this is a pool forum.

Reminds me of the Seinfeld where Kramer is explaining how the homeless reject the stale muffins. "We tried putting some fresh ones on top of the stale ones...but they know...they dig."
