when my gf's and i are playing, we like something uptempo with a strong backbeat. so going back in ancient history, how about 'pretty woman' from roy o?

i'm sure that the wit and wisdom of the forum can do much better!

Hi,

Me and my friend discussed it the other day and I must say a mixed soulalbum - great, good backbeat and nice "tempo" to it.
Relax and enjoy:thumbup:

do a search. this has been asked a few times. lots of different answers. mine stays the same...CLUTCH. or maybe a little mix from my mp3 player. but mostly clutch.

Most anything except country and hip/hop loud enough so you can just barely hear it.

What... no second post from Sunnyone saying how insightful or timely this post was.. must have missed it.

I'm pretty content with no music and used to feel like that's how I prefer it. But I could maybe be talked into hearing my favorite music instead. Anything that isn't my favorite music can be distracting, and I would prefer no music at all in that case.

I think that's what most of the replies will be... whatever music they happen to like off the table.

sir mixalot baby got back. there is a poolroom here that turns into a club and karoake kinda thing on weekends. I was playing a guy late and couldn't make a ball because I couldn't hear anything. later that night I got even taking second in the booty shaking contest.

i prefer music without lyrics bc it dosen't disturb my awareness of existence

I put together my own CD, a few years ago, which I use for background music when I run tournaments. I have given it to a few players who like the compilation. Many "pool" related , such as ...The Baron>Johnny Cash...The Pool Shark > Dave Dudley....Johnny Lang, Three Dog Night, Beach Boys, Tina Turner. I am now putting together my number 2...Should have it in a few weeks.

any music is fine as long as it isnt too loud.

Except opera, that $hit they can keep.

"Pretty Woman" was a great song as were most of Roy's. However, the best music for playing pool is none at all unless it is played soft which it never is in a commercial room.
Steve.<== Doesn't like his music loud.

there are too many awesome groups to choose a favorite...

i like to listen to everything from blues to jazz to funk to rock to whatever....it just has to be good music.

i just got turned on to gogol bordello today -- gypsy punk music...listening to them now and wishing i was at a table...
