Best hitting cue you ever played with.

TA-3.JPG

It's a production cue, although uncommon. The MEZZ TA3, with the Hybrid Pro shaft.

Mika, Alex, Karl, Chris, so many players have played with my cue and after only a hit or two, looked to me in amazement and asked what it was. Alex even considered playing the quarter finals of the US Open with it, and another pro offered to buy it on the spot.

The owner of Mezz, Kaz, gave it to me as a gift a few years back. I haven't had the slightest desire to try anything since.

Selling my TA3 is one of my biggest regrets

For me it's a Cognoscenti I had in the mid 90's. I have no Idea what kind of tip was on it; but to this day I'm sorry I ever sold it.

Black Boar ebony six point with solid purpleheart and ebony veneers, three points were an inch or so taller than the other three, 19.75 oz, 4.2 oz tightly grained 12-3/4 mm shaft, ivory ferrule, 59" total length, .840 at the joint, 1.250 at the butt cap, black linen wrap. Love the way the BB six pointers play.

Straight taper or curved or compound ?

Has to be an all ebony Merry Widow with an ivory joint by Paul Mottey or an East Indian rosewood, steel joint sneaky by Bob Runde. Both top tier builders. The hit on the Mottey was a little "softer" than the Runde, prolly due to the ivory joint. Both had a great hit.I don't know why Runde is not a Hall Of Famer yet.

Ed Prewitt

I picked up a Ed Prewitt last year at the Windy city cue show. I haven't put it down yet, best hitting cue I've tried.

I've had dozens of cues, from high end Tad's to lower end production cues, and this is the only one I regret letting go. The ol' block letter Joss :o

People may be absolutely shocked but after using Showman, Olney, Sugartree, Southwest, Josey, JD, Diveney, Jacoby, Mezz, Predator....my best hitting cue is the cue I'm using which is a.....Lucasi Hybrid LH30 LOL...the shaft is so good to play with and the wrap is so great in the hand

cues by wayne

Wayne Holmes made a fantastic hitting cue, might be my favorite cue to date.

My new AE hits solid too though

tim scruggs cue a friend let me hit with was sweet.
ive had the chance to hit with an original bushka, tascarella was trying to sell it, hit very nice.
any old schon are great players.
RCH VIP is a great hitting cue.
basically what ive experienced so far is the older and more used a cue is, the better it feels.

A two-way tie....between a Joe Callaluca cue I bought from Hunter years ago, and a Barnhart PJ cue I owned around the same time. Both played IDENTICAL to each other, and both were...in my opinion...phenomenal.

I also owned a fantastic 4-point BB that was crazy-nice, but for whatever reason, I played worse with it. It had to be the stick's fault.

I have a Barnhart PJ now, and love it.

Now I gotta hit balls with my new Murrell, and see what's what.

Lee Peppers

My best playing cue is my Lee Peppers.

5/16 X 14 piloted stainless steel joint
Prather blank
Rosewood points with (outside in) purple, blue, brown, maple veneers
Mother-of-pearl tiffany notched diamonds in each rosewood point
Straight grain maple forearm
Rosewood butt-sleeve with bushka rings above and below 4 mother-of-pearl diamonds
White Delrin butt cap with black rubber bumper with hole in the middle for screw bolt
Black leather wrap lightly textured with near perfect seam
Black delrin joint collars with silver rings on butt and 2 shafts
Length is 30" butt and 2 shafts at 30" each
Shafts with Ivor-X ferrules and Moori Medium tips (4 layers high sides & dickel radius)
Jim Baxter custom joint protectors with silver coins on tops (beautiful) matches cue

Incredible power player as fluid as water through the cue ball, exhilarating to me!

A Special thank you to AvMaster, Jim Baxter, and Frank Tran for everything you did!

Chad

Diveney Custom Ebony Hustler with his Lake Salvage shaft at 12.5 mm and a Kamui Black Medium tip. I am the weakest link............

Ernie Martinez overall
I know I'm playing with a Runde, but I recently decided to change it up and play with a steel jointed cue.
These Runde's play pretty good though, incredible balance
