Best Hitting Cues Survey - Please Reply

Right now I have a lucasi, meucci, coker, sugartree, and schon. Out of the five cues I own I like the hit of the schon the best. So much so that I just ordered another schon cue.

The wood pin cues like Chuck Starkey and Deano Cues hit great to me and I like old Brunswick fullsplice conversions with 314-2 shafts.--Leonard

I'm not sure if this has been addressed or not so I'll just put it out there and see.

My experience, which isn't nearly as vast as some others here on the forums, has shown me that no 2 cues, even from the same cue maker that is constructed in pretty much the exact same matter hits exactly the same. Why? I'm not sure. Lots of variables I'm sure. But I can say that most of the Schon cues I've hit had a very, very similiar feel of the hit to them.

There was a post recently concerning "test hit" cues and I can honestly say that I would much prefer to feel the hit of a cue before dropping any considerable amount of money on it. Of course there are a lot of cues out there that will have value regardless of the "hit" simply due to the maker, the market, it's collectable value, etc.

I currently own/play with a Carolina Custom that has just the right "hit" for me, and I would compare it closely to a Scruggs cue "hit" because I have a friend who has a few Scruggs cues and we did some test hitting not too long ago with a bunch of various cues from several different cue makers. It was an eye-opening experience. I ordered a somewhat matching cue from Carolina in hopes that it would have the same "hit" as my player, but it has a different, softer hit than what I was looking for even though I'm sure it's construction was close to the same. I still like the cue, but it won't be my main player, I think I might give it to my oldest son as an 18th B-day present.

Anyway, sorry if this is a long out of place post on the subject but I thought it might be of value to some.

OK, everybody post a list of the cuemakers who make the best hitting cues you have ever tried. If this gets a good response I will post a tally of the chart.
To make this simple and useful, I will attempt to set a few groundrules, although clearly I have no power to enforce them.

1) Please post only the names of cuemakers, not why you like them or descriptions of how they hit. The point is to make a list that says "Cuemaker A --- X votes", so all that other info just makes it more difficult to keep track of the numbers. The exception would be if you want to add a stipulation or qualification such as voting for a subgroup of a cuemaker's total work (i.e. Franklin Era Southwest OR Cuemaker A, 1997 or later OR Cuemaker B's fully spliced sneaky petes).
2) Please do freely post suggestions and discussion related to the survey, HOWEVER, please keep these posts separate from actual votes. When you vote, your post should be a list of Cuemakers and nothing more.
3) Vote for however many cuemakers that you feel belong in the top tier of cuemakers in terms of playability and feel.

If you want to vote anonymously, feel free to PM your vote to me.

So, when you gonna post the results of your survey?

Might as well add my .0002 cents.

1 Southwest (cocobolo forearm)
2. Blue Grass
3. Darrin Hill full splice (old micarta ferrules)
4 Madison Bob (cocobolo)

Although, I have been known to miss excessively with every one of these...
