I've played with at least 40 different cues and I have to say hands down the best one ever was the one made by the guy who does wraps for tiger. I can never remember his name but that is one awesome cue.

Best cues I ever hit with that were my taste in hit in no particular order are:

Doug Beasley steel jointed cue. Hits solid with nice feedback.
Ernie Martinez steel jointed with LBM ferrule
Schon from the SL series or R series
Balabushka
Richard Black
Samsara had buck horn joint and ferrule- great feel
Leon Sly steel jointed
Joss early 1980's steel jointed cue
Joss West
