Quit hating Lou.lol. I suspect some guys hear that line about props for having gamble and heart a lot.
Lou Figueroa
usually the guy
who lost
Quit hating Lou.
No hate. Maybe you could stop making false accusations?
Lou Figueroa
probably not
Quit hating Lou. Move on.
Wow, the logic and more rationalization.
$10K is a lot of gamble for someone who is not a millionaire.
$20 is not a gamble unless you're homeless.
Wait, lol. Lol some more to show maturity.
Not hating? Posts a picture then downplays the 10k bet.
Lol
Wait, lol.
Unless you are someone's accountant you would have no way of knowing squadoush about how much gamble any bet is for anyone.
Lou Figueroa
"Betting high" or showing "heart" is relative, IMO.
For some guys, given a particular skill level, experience, and financials, betting $100 is "betting high" and "showing heart." For other guys, given their particular experience and financials, it's more like a junkie who needs a bigger dose to get their blood pumping. And frankly, for some of these guys, you can forget about skill being part of the equation.
Making bad games does not equal "heart." And,
Betting what you can afford does not equal "heart."
There are plenty of foolish ways to get an adrenaline rush -- chasing the rush dan't automatically justify stupid.
Lou Figueroa
One udder thing.
Gambling high does not automatically imbue heart or gamble. This is one of the great myths perpetuated in pool by the guys who want the suckers and losers to keep coming back for more. They even have names like "nit" and "no-gamble" to goad players into believing a bad, illogical premise.
To me, a working man who gets up and plays for $20 a game, shows far more heart than a successful businessman who makes a bad game and gambles away $10,000 in spending money which, in some cases (lol, sometimes I crack myself up) he is likely to write off as a business expense.
If Hallmark ever comes up with a card for pool players, it'll probably say, "You showed a lot of heart and gamble." You'll find it in the "Sympathy" section, right next to the funeral cards expressing grief for your loss.
Lou Figueroa
It is heart warming to see the Barton Chicken Wing still flies.
Lou Figueroa
And you're a CPA and know $10K for Barton is not some gambling?
Lou,
I know there is bad blood between you and JB but geez....let the guy play. This matchup had nothing to do with you, he is betting his own money and he is a grown adult. So is the other guy.
You are starting to come across as a lil "whiney". Give it a rest.
Love you, Lou; you know I do. :smiling-heart:
But I'm gonna have to disagree with you here - respectfully.
John has found success in business, that's for sure, but not to the extent that $10k is an insignificant amount to him - no 'drop in the bucket', as they say.
Quite a bit different than the $20 to a "working man" or the $100 that is a lot to some other people examples that you provided.
John made a game with this Justin fellow whom, like yourself, I also do not know. John thought he could win and so he challenged himself and gave it a try. John lost 15-12. Not exactly a beat-down, imo.
I maintain, JB has a lot of heart.
best,
brian kc
Just who is this Justin Marks fella that he is able to gamble 10k? His $ or backers? I've never heard or seen the name mentioned.
