What's the biggest money match that anyone has ever actually seen? I've heard of six figure games but I'd like to know if anyone here has ever witnessed/participated in any of them? Some details would be nice too, who won, etc.

Good one going on now over at Red Shoes on the south side of Chicago. Ike against Billy I. playing one hole for around 10 large with a VERY, VERY large amount on the side. I believe Billy is getting 9-8. Last I heard, Ike was up 3 games playing 7 ahead. Go Ike go !!!!

biggest I ever saw was a 30K loss by Johnny A.

Johnny was giving Francisco Galindo the 8 out at Francisco's place Golball billiards in San Berdoo. They were playing 10K a set and Johnny ended up down 30K, I didn't stay for the whole thing, so I'm not positive on the final amount, but that's what I heard.

Had to be Tobey against Archie The Greek at Hard Times.

Yeah, When the smoke cleared Toby had won over 400K.
Biggest win ever that I know of is Archie beating Bobby Baldwin, the President of Bellagio for nearly a million playing 20,000 a game 9-Ball on a bar table in Vegas. That was what started Archies big run.

They started out for 500 a game, but kept jacking the bet. Might have even played for 40K a game at the end. Have to check with Archie.
Many of the games at the Rack in Detroit in the 70's were for 10K a game, One Pocket on a snooker table, between Jew Paul and whoever.

100,00 scores were common there and that was 1970's money. Like 500K today.

I played Archie in Pennsylvania and beat him out of 200k cash just before he played Toby. My "lemon" was so good I got his nose open. He thought he was playing a billionaire industrialist. He still O's 800k.

Lemon on, brother!

Ike was up 4 and BI ran off 4 games to even it up.

I think they redid the game . no spot at $1,500.00 per game. Ike up 2 last I heard late last night.

I went with a group of gamblers in 1964 to Odessa, Texas as driver/gofer/sacrificial muscle; they were backing a player from Lubbock against this rich oil guy. The oil guy lost $125,000, playing snooker, payed off about $30,000 in cash and wrote a check (which wound up being good) for the rest like he was buying a bag of turnips. I got a $800 bone out of the deal and was happy as a clam. Ronald Reagan's "trickle down effect" in action.

Best part of this whole thread is the "like he was buying a bag of turnips" simile!!!!

As in the 8 out you mean the 8? Or was he getting the wild nine too? :P

Not the eight out, at golball billiards. The eight, out at goldball billiards,.

Seen some 9-Ball ahead sets for 5-10-20K and some One Pocket ahead sets for 5-10K but the one that stands out was Super Mario from Miami playing a road agent who called himself "Billy Ray" 20 ahead for 60-85K. 12 hour sessions, no funny bizniz, the room was fulla sweaters, nits and the railbirds were active. The number is sketchy because no one could get an honest read on the cheese except those directly involved, oh...Mario won late the second day or early the third day. Watched a guy lose a couple hundred thousand playing Golf onna 6X12 over twenty yrs ago too.

Minnesota Fats won an aircraft carrier one time---but you will have to ask him about the details.

To hear Fats tell it, he won entire countries. From sheiks and maharajahs, no less.
