Congratulations Melissa, what a brutally honest story. It took great strength to share your thoughts and feelings, that shows your real character. You are a real tribute to the sport.Keep up the good work. DaveMelissa Herndon said:Thank you. I just read it for the first time - and I don't know exactly how to feel. It is brutally honest...and it exposes my fears and insecurities and weaknesses for all the world to see. But, at the same time, it tells my story and introduces "me" to everyone, too.
I hope that people don't read it and develop an opinion of who I am based on who I was at one time. I have very much enjoyed my pool career...and meeting new players and fans from all over the country. Without my turbulent past...I might not have been tough enough to make it to where I am....and I wouldn't have had the chances to travel and make new friends. Even though I regret the things I may have said or done in the past - I wouldn't trade the journey for anything.
Thanks to everyone for all the support throughout the years!
Most Sincerely - Melissa
