Thank you. I just read it for the first time - and I don't know exactly how to feel. It is brutally honest...and it exposes my fears and insecurities and weaknesses for all the world to see. But, at the same time, it tells my story and introduces "me" to everyone, too.
I hope that people don't read it and develop an opinion of who I am based on who I was at one time. I have very much enjoyed my pool career...and meeting new players and fans from all over the country. Without my turbulent past...I might not have been tough enough to make it to where I am....and I wouldn't have had the chances to travel and make new friends. Even though I regret the things I may have said or done in the past - I wouldn't trade the journey for anything.

That was a sweet story. I only know you from how you are on this forum and I've wanted to say for a long time that you seem like a great person. I think that interview helped to seal the deal, for me anyway. You are my type of gal, LOL! Also, IMO, you should NEVER regret the past...you have learned from your experiences and they have helped to shape you into who you are today. And for what it is worth...I'll clap for you.

Hey Melissa,
That was a great story. The brutally honest approach is the only way to go. Everyone would much rather know the real you rather than anything else. You know that I'm still really sorry about that Christmas spread. All of us players know that you deserve great things. I'm glad you everyone else finally realized that.

Hey Melissa,
Excellent article & pictures! I think all great players go through an "angry" phase...caring that much is what makes them great. And getting through it is what makes them champions! Congrats on your first feature article...I'm sure it won't be the last.

Melissa, I just wanted to drop a note to say I thought the article about you was excellent. I would much rather read about the real person as opposed to a bunch of fluff that doesn't mean anything.
Danny "Kid Delicious" Basavich has done several interviews as of late, and he was totally honest and up front about his life as a pool player. He received criticism from some about his bluntness about himself, but anyone who really knows Danny can't help but like him.
BTW, I don't get the opportunity to attend the ladies tour events, but if and when I do, I hope to meet you. You bear an uncanny resemblance to the most beautiful girl in my world, and that is my daughter.

Interesting that you mentioned the Corr match from the 2002 BCA Open. You caught a major stroke that week and it really looked like you might get that one. I remember that match well, but had no idea how much it had motivated you.
