Mike did not commit suicide! No way, shape or form! He was murdered! Unless he had a a fatal heart attack, which is very doubtful due to the information from witnesses and the fact his car was back at the pool room without him.

Sad news. I remember seeing him at DCC. Didn't watch much of his match, but saw enough to know he could play. I gotta agree with Jam from earlier in this thread. Public torture is too good for scum like this. But if the death penalty is all we can get, so be it. RIP Mike

I know Mike would not commit suicide. I don't know anyone who suggested that.
Maybe the sheriff's office is just keeping this under wraps until the cause of death is announced by the cornoner. It may just be protocol or something else that we don't know.

This news absolutely disgusts me!!! I am literally sick to my stomach with the state of humanity and what this world is coming to....
I was at Skeeters last year where I spoke with Mike and played Mike at DCC last year. He has soul of an angel and the fight of the devil...he played hard and loved the action. I'm truely going to miss him although we had only met on two occasions. I wish the best for his family during these difficult times and think that a new tradition of a moment of silence may be appropriate at the Derby for those pool players who may have passed on during the course of the year.
As for the rotten bastards who are responsible for this...I hope their ultimate demise is as long and painful as can be imagined. Short and sweet would not be justice.

Unfortunately, jay, this Jericho will have cut off his ponytail and will have a full beard in a week. He's probably holed up in a motel with Internet access or will call someone who does.
From the story, it seems unlikely mike drove his own car home. He probably got in the pick up truck planning on stopping at his house beforegoing to the casino. We can only hope this isn't the case because otherwise, jerichos fingerprints would be all over mikes car.
It sounds like it was a robbery turned deadly. A homicide nevertheless. I sure hope the cops get him. Should be publically drawn and quartered.

It is my understanding that even if the cause of death is "obvious" an autopsy is done whenever someone dies of something other than natural causes. This may vary from state to state, or it might be a standard practice nationwide. I don't know enough to say either way except that I'm not surprised an autopsy is being done even if the injuries are obvious.

I live on the Ms Coast and saw Mike around quite a bit. A good friend of mine introduced me to him and every time I saw him after that he always said "HI" and even remembered my name. A helluva nice guy and a hellava player. One of the local papers said the detectives were reviewing surveillance footage from the pool hall "Skeeter's". So hopefully they caught a video image of this bastard and someone will recognize him. If they put such an image in the local paper in the morning I will try and post it here.

Thanks for your help. I think if we all work together we can do something about making sure this guy is brought to justice. I'd like to see the AZ network close in on him, and strangle him. We've outed all kinds of con men and frauds. Now let's see if we can catch a killer.
I posted a message on facebook for all my facebook friends to keep a lookout for him and call police if they see him.
Maybe not much, but if everyone on here does it maybe it will at least cast a large net.

Damn.. The POS's that done this will be found. I bet they will be shocked when they find out that the person they knocked out was murdered. They should put them under the jail.

From what I have read he seemed like a very nice person that would help anyone out. I too do the same stop along side the road to help people. Wife always tells me one day I'll get robbed or shot because there not really broken down.

I hope his family can find some comfort knowing how much people thought and cared about him as a person and the way he played this game he obviously loved. I also hope these SOB's are caught and quick. Not only so that justice can be served, but that perhaps his family and friends can find some closure knowing mike's killer(s) did NOT GET AWAY WITH IT!
We will certainly keep our eyes peeled around here. We're not far from Dallas and we tend to get lot's of visiting players as we are close to Dallas but somewhat off the beaten path. It would be VERY HELPFUL to know what kind and how many cues are missing, assuming they were stolen. Any pics from his buddies? It sounds like he had some nice wood which may or may not turn up for sale. If so, I have no doubt this community will recognize the cues and ID these bastards. Unless of course, they're players and know how unique some of them may be and trash them. It wouldn't be the fist time a cue being sold identified a criminal. RIP Mike.
