I received this cue on my B-Day, June the second. This is a Capone, 19 oz cue with ivory joint, butt cap, inlays and rings.
Yesterday I only managed to play with it 25 minutes, but that was enough to experience the difference. Before this I had a Schon that had a great, but rather hard, stiff hit that I loved.
Well, this cue differs in many ways - firstly I wanted to find out how the sleeved ivory joint and the radial pin would hit as I did not have a clue about it (I just couldn't imagine). I have read that it hits "crisp" and that helped a little, but the experience is just uncomparable to anything.
The cue hits amazingly nice, it feels like as if every small component of it would collaborate in creating the final feel that gets to my hand. However I do feel that crisp feeling coming from the joint - it is not hard and can be felt just a little so it is by no means annoying - and it is marvellous.
I had a sniper and a kamui tip put on instead of the standard triangles - I didn't even shoot with the Triangles on - and yesterday I only tried the shaft with the sniper - I think I'll leave the other shaft all alone.
I will enclose a few photos that I took this morning, I hope you will like them.
As you may see I find it hard to collect my words and tell my overall experience because every little thing is just so perfect that I cannot mention all of them.
Maybe finally I should mention Capone's awesome work his fit and finish being not good but amazing. The points are long and sharp and even, the veneers are perfectly executed and finally all the inlays are razor sharp and flush - not to mention the rings.
This would be the perfect birthday present from myself to myself
Thank you for your time and here are the pics.
P.S.: all you may see is just dust, no dings or scratches on the cue.
