If you don't mind my asking, what was repaired on this cue? I'm sure anybody considering buying this "NEAR MINT to MINT CONDITION (much closer to MINT than NEAR MINT)"cue would want to know. Thanks...
Why no response? Don't you want to sell the cue?

Perhaps Mike hasn't been online in the last 36 hours, and maybe he has a real life other than the one here on AZ. Give the guy a break, I'm VERY sure that Mike wants to sell this cue and will respond to your inquiry when he can.

After I posted this cue for sale, it came to my attention that Mike Webb (a cue maker with 20+ years experience) replaced its handle section. Because the handle section was replaced, the cue was refinished by Mike at that time, and thereafter Kenny Koo installed the lizard wrap. IMO, the replacement of the handle section of this cue is no big deal. Apparently, I'm in excellent company. I spoke with Tony at Black Boar about this cue today (he had the butt end of the cue in his hands at the Expo and told me that the refinish looked very good; he repeated that comment today). I asked Tony if I could quote him and he said that was fine. As to the handle replacement by Webb, he told me that: (1) Mike consulted with him before replacing the handle section; (2) Mike does "first class work"; (3) the replacement of the handle section was "not a big deal"; and (4) the replacement of a handle section of a cue "in many cases improves the hit of the cue." For the record, this cue rolls dead straight and hits as good as any other steel jointed cue that I have ever played with, and that's in the neighborhood of several hundred steel jointed cues during the past 6 years, which is a more than adequate base to compare to. I asked Tony if he ever visits AZB. He told me no and point blank why: Because most of the cue pundits have no idea what they are talking about. We are in agreement. Say what you want about this cue (Tony told me that if he were to remake this cue today the price would be between $3,800 and $4,500) and/or me. I don't care. I have numerous repeat customers who will only buy cues from me because I only sell Quality Cues at unbeatable prices with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I'm sure that rubs some cue dealers the wrong way and I don't care. Simply put, I have certified this cue as a Quality Cue. I stand by my certification. Who ever winds up with the cue from me, has a 100% satisfaction money back guarantee that they will love the way it looks and plays. My one and only price drop on this cue is $2,340.00 shipped and insured by USPS Express Mail. So, what's the risk in owning this Black Boar? Answer: NONE! Have a good day.
Isn't one of Black Boar's biggest claim to fame the fact that he uses a once piece forearm core/handle/buttsleeve tenon? I don't know if he did that in the old cues vs. newer cues....
THIS CUE ORIGINALLY HAD THE 1 PIECE "CORE"

Mike isn't going to sell a garbage cue, never has never will. The Black Boar I bought off him was immaculate and I'm glad he gave me an opportunity to own such a classic cue. In fact in my first pm to him I praised him for having great cues at affordable prices which puts him in elite seller staus with me since not many do that. He got 2 Scruggs from me and was very strict in the condition and let me know right away if there was something he didn't like, which I respect. I don't feel there is a need to jump all over him about what happened to the Boar. Whether Webb,Proficient or even Tony himself repaired the cue still doesn't take away that it's one of the most sought after cues in the business. A chance to own a BB for less than $2500 is crazy especially with a money back guarantee. Good luck
Hi Kane:
Thanks for your kind words and support. I'm glad that you are very pleased with the monster 68 ivory inlaid Black Boar I put you into. This one hits every bit as good as yours. My guess is that if I had two other identical looking AS2 cues but with original handle sections, and one of the pundits were to hit all three cues, he would be unable to pick out the one with the Webb handle. In any event, it appears that one or more of the pundits thinks they know more about handle replacements than Tony, the legend who built this cue. Not likely, IMO. Should anybody have any question about my conversation of earlier today with Tony, please feel free to call him. He used two words to describe those who thought that Mike Webb's handle section replacement on this cue was anything other than a no big deal. One of the words began with an "i" and ended with a "t"; the other word began with an "m" and ended with an "n," so perhaps one of the pundits better get a nonpundit buddy to make the call. Best regards and good night.
THAT IS A LIE!
I am sick of reading all of these posts. Mike, you knew the handle was replaced by Mike Webb. I sold you that cue for $1300! The wrap alone cost $300 from Kenny Koo.
I was taken advantage of by Tank138 last year on this cue. Tank did not list this cue for sale. I approached him. I do not blame him for his asking price because I thought I was getting a collectible cue according to HIS description. I trade a mint Ebony nosed South West with all the rings and matching SW jp's. I also included a mint PFD merry widow cue made out of Masur Birch. This was over $3500 in trade value. I also gave him $175 in cash. He is probably still laughing at my ignorance for that deal. That's OK, I have still have my dignity.
The real problem for me started a month after the deal was complete. I read a thread on AZ saying the older BB's "buzzed" in the forearm. I ran to my basement to check my newly acquired cue. IT BUZZED! I immediately contacted Tank. I wanted the cue fixed by Tony. He said he would not pay for that. Then he said he would have Mike Webb make the repair. I had no choice but to agree.
When I received the cue back from Tank about a month later it looked great. No buzz and no problems what so ever. After a few months I wanted to place a value on the cue. I heard anywhere from $2100-$2400. At this point I started to get upset. I sent the cue to Kenny Koo for a real lizard wrap to help increase the value of the cue.
At VF I heard this cue was only worth $1200-$1500. I was so disgusted, I made the best deal possible. That was with Mike Gartland. What he tries to sell this cue for is his business. My reputation WILL NOT BE QUESTIONED because of this cue. If anything I was too honest. I caledc TAnk a few days before VF to ask him why he sold me this lemon and his reply was "why did you draw attention by posting the cue was repaired?". I said because I am an honest person and I do NOT want to deceive anyone.
