Blackjack, book ETA?

I need to clarify this...

I have never numbered or signed my books.

I will not be numbering or signing this book.

The books are published on demand and shipped from the publisher.

no book signing???

:confused:Most Authors have book signing events at different venues buy book sign book !
I am sure you would do well doing this at VF DCC US Open Worlds ETC. ETC. !
have the three world champion editors sign the books this will make it a must have book!!
Good luck for all you have done for pool and here on AZ

I wish I could take that much time off of work to attend all of those events, but the fact is that I only get 2 weeks every year. This year I have chosen to take it during the Straight Pool World Championships, but it is doubtful that I will be able to go.

It's all about the numbers. If things are slow (and believe me - they are slow) then my hands are tied. That is why this is my final pool project.

Buying books in advance is an investment, and in the world of pool, its basically a gamble on whether or not you'll be able to sell them all. This isn't my first rodeo, so I know better. I have already taken a big loss on this project, and I won't dig the hole any deeper.

Vahmurka, I promised to send you a book, and I will do just that.

No more need be said my friend! I just want the book and it's contents in my head. I SURE wish I was in your neighborhood.... but I do have Little Joe's brain to pick so it ain't like I don't have knowledgeable help to lean on :groucho:

Still... I'm anxious to see the book and I completely understand your position David. No sense in you having a big nut to cover by having an inventory to worry about.

I'm just grateful (which.. I might add... brings a feeing of great fullness :) ) that you have the drive... nay.. the COMPULSION(!) to share your knowledge and creative spirit with us.

okay Blackjack, understood ya. With or without your signature, I'm sure this will be a remarkable volume of Straight Pool knowledge.
Geez, I hope this will NOT be your final pool project like you feel.

David, hope you are doing well......all the best amigo.....no doubt this book will be a huge success.....look forward to buying a copy and seeing more of your genius....

Bumpidy to keep the excitement building....

Blackjack "putting out"

I am working on this book every day - it shouldn't be to long. Last year, due to some health issues, I had to put everything on hold. Over the past few months I have been working hard to get the book finished. I have some previews that I will be putting out in a few days - I am sure you won't be disappointed.

Blackjack:

Ya gotta understand, whenever you announce you're "putting out," the populace is eager. :D

Seriously though, your health always comes first. Everything else (including the book) comes later. Hope you're doing well, and I know I'm personally eager for the opportunity to purchase a copy when it's available.

Warmest regards,
-Sean

They just keep comin and comin! The pressure is ON! :groucho:

The books are printed when they are ordered, it is on-demand printing. You order one from Lulu, and they produce it and ship it. I have not decided whether or not I am going to pre-order any more than a few copies to pass out to those that have helped me with the book. Time will tell, but for now, the book will be available only thru Lulu & Amazon - if people see me at tournaments, I might have a few copies with me, other than that - this approach ensures that when you order a book, you get it. I see too many people run into problems by not being able to keep up with the orders. With Lulu, it's hands off on my part, and you get a quality product in a timely manner.

I used to produce and ship the books myself. That is very costly and takes a lot of time that I just don't have available anymore. I know people want them numbered and signed, but I simply don't have the money pre-order 100 books at production cost. It runs up to about $1500 - that doesn't include shipping to my house, and then individual shipping to the book buyer. This is another situation where I wish I could, but I can't.

How do we order the pool? Who is lulu? I looked on amazon and could not find it. I would like to start to read just in case we get together at Comet Billiards.

Dave,

i couldn't find your book on Amazon or LuLu.

I haven't submitted the final edit to Lulu.com yet, and it won't be available until the final edit is completed.

Here is the cover of the book -

Kaz, Lulu.com is a publishing site, much like cafe-press.

When the book is finished and completed, I will make a post here and in the main forum - and it will available at the same storefront link as my other books - and I will put a link in my sig-line also.

Here are some sample diagrams:

I am working night and day to complete this book. Keep in mind, that I work 40+, and I have 5 other projects going on at the same time - so give or take a week - July 25. I should have all the feedback and edits completed by then.
