Thanks again to Bob Jewitt for donating his time and money to this event for us 14.1 fans. Before I left I saw that Schmidt/Williams & Eckert/Pagulayan were in semi finals.
I anyone has a stroy, results, high runs id appreciate!

Read my next column then.

But you're absolutely right about Bob Jewett; his contributions to our game have been prodigious. GF

I was amazed to learn that Bob generously (and almost anonymously) donates $10,000 to this event every year and it doesn't even have his name on it. It should be called "The Bob Jewett Challenge" or "The Jewett 14.1 Challenge" or "The Come Get Some of Bobs Moola Challenge" or something like that. IMO. :)

The Bob Jewett 14.1 Tournament

Went back and looked at some of my old BCA Rule Books and there is Robert Jewett listed on the Rules Committee, and as a contributor to the Rule Book. You cannot count the hours he has given selflessly to pool, with phone calls, meetings, and the cerebral work needed to truly make a rule book. I think it is appropriate that Bob have a tournament named after him. The money he donates notwithstanding, but over time what he has given in knowledge to help every player who participates. At any time and anyplace where someone asks,"What's the Rule on that?" Bob Jewett knows!

Bob is a great guy, he has even kicked a substantial donation to show his support to the 14.1 Challenge that we are holding at 2010 Super Billiards Expo.

hope to see you all there, come on over and give it a try !
Steve

Thanks Bob for all your help in pool! Congrats to Charlie Williams for winning the event and to John Schmidt for his incredible 170+ run!!
