Bogus Ball..from the start

Rayjay, nobody made out.The public didn't want to buy their product! So if it was a scam or a very stupid plan it ended up a complete failure.Thank goodness more people weren't taken in and the damage was less than it could have been.
Hopefully if they come up with some new twists, people will do a better job checking out the promises.

BUYER BEWARE!!!!

Jay & Justin - yáll are there.
- are they paid to-date for arrears?
- have they been paid for lost wages?
- have their expenses been covered during downtime?
- was there a Contract that covered all Players, in the event of Breech, for all expenses/leases/return costs, to continue @ payment?

and more importantly

- WHERE is NATHAN?

With 6 days to go I will be willing to take a 10:1 bet that Bonus Ball starts on Aug.1st. I will bet up to $200 GETTING 10:1 against anyone who thinks it won't start and is willing to bet on it.

I will bet up to $500 that it starts up again within the first two weeks of Aug.

That said IF they haven't paid Lee Brett or any of the regular employees up til now then I find that incredibly LAME and really sours me on Bonus Ball. I have zero idea what their finances are like but if it were me I'd find a couple thousand to help my employees bridge the gap.

If it walks like a duck, looks like a duck, quacks like a duck, it may just be a duck!
You can figure out the rest for yourself. I already did a long time ago.

Jay great commentary on the 1P match the other night, brutal match.

Please look at your REP left you a message there, important.

take care

The more relevant question is whether the players get their back-pay by August 1. Care to bet on that with someone?

IMO, if the players don't get their back pay prior to the starting up of BB, then a lot of them will walk away, as they should.

I will bet on it with you. Let's bet my $100 to your $1000 that all the players are paid in the first week of August.

You have to post though as you are on the No Action List. :-)

BB blamed a lot of their problems on the construction crews building BB studio. If that is true, how do you get evicted out of your own building? Based on all the other facts we now know, my guess is BB slow paid the workers and they wouldn't work until they got paid. That is what caused the several months delay in the building.
Another half truth from BB. Do they own the building[ which caused the delay, but the eviction doesn't make sense then] or do they rent[the eviction makes sense, but the delay story is false]?
"You can't cure stupid"

From reading related threads, my understanding is that:

- BB does not own the building, they rent the space.
- BB was responsible for some or all of the "build-out" to turn the raw space into a usable BB arena
- The build-out took much longer than anticipated and cost much more than anticipated as the result, in large part, of "difficulties" with the first crew hired to do the work.

You can't call something a half truth while you are asking a question like this. Actually you can do whatever you want but this post is messed up imo.

Scam or not it seems to be a failed venture. I personally would like to see it survive somehow, but I don't think that would happen without the intervention of pool powerhouse like csi.

Now please don't castrate me for my thoughts and I really don't want to turn this into a political discussion on taxation but in my "it's 4am and I just got done driving a semi all night" frame of mind , it seems viable. Hypothetically, say csi or another major sanctioning organization came in and bought out the rights to bonus ball and simply either raised their annual or weekly dues to help cover some of the bare minimum operating costs. And in turn bonus ball content was provided to those league players at "no charge". How many players are going to quit their league over an extra 5-10 a year or dollar a week if they're actually getting something in return that they can actually use? At least this way you would have an initial fan base. And the governing body and its league operators would have an edge over the others. Additional revenue streams could be made from there such as merchandise and ppv from those that aren't members.

I just think that the discussion would be a lot more productive if the focus was on how can the pool community save an opportunity like this, instead of how it was doomed from the start.

Ps... Please no grammar or punctuation police it was done on my phone so I can't really see what it looks like until its already posted.

With all the players that were brought on board the bonus ball ship by Archer this has to have HURT his credibility!

Now

Archer is vouching for the US Open 9 ball event by holding the escrow money for the event via the ABP. Not sure? but once the funds are released to Barry there is nothing to force the money be utilized for PLAYER PAYOUTS ONLY!

"...have to agree with CJ. Larry and Barry impressed me as being real people with real hopes, real dreams, real aspirations, and definitely a real love for the game. But on top of that they have shown real plans, real drive, and real dedication. And with all of those things going for them, I honestly believe that the rest of us are going to be in for one great ride."

Time for an update...and in July, the final line is HILARIOUS (but not in a haha sort of way:mad:)!

"...The main source of revenue for the league is expected to come from Internet pay-per-view sales, merchandise, and ticket sales. "

Say whuuuut?! They couln't fill the seats with free popcorn or offer a watchable stream. Margin better be pretty good on those sexy jerseys.

This is as good of a plan as the woman D Player with the Doctorate who put out a 12 lb book of pool drill diagrams.

John, if you're so confident why are you asking for 10-1? I will bet there are no matches on Aug. 1, 2, 3 or 4. I will bet up to $1,000. I don't want any odds, even money is fine.

Well, yes, but the good Doctor had a diagram of every possible shot in that book. If you could master all those shots, you would certainly be a champion.

On an unrelated note, I was interested to see Lee take over from Nathan as the primary media liaison.;)
