Bogus Tim Scruggs Cue

KD,

All due respect, HoldemRw and i are discussing the cue which Nick stated in the first post (image imbedded) of this thread as being "BOGUS", not Holdem's 60" box cue. MERRY CHRISTMAS, adam
Thanks I was getting confused 😕

LOL Nick. You got yourself into a private conversation I had with another collector who I will not drag into this thread, took what I told him OUT OF CONTEXT and posted crap about fake SW cues being sold when I was selling mine. I called him afterward and all he could tell me was that he was sorry and he has no control over you.

The problem is Nick, my SW was sent to Laurie for authentication, as part of the sale, something that the buyer and myself agreed to prior.

You seem to love to insert yourself into business that really isn't yours, and then make up shit to have it appear you have some secret knowledge.

Your fantasies could have cost me money on the sale, and I don't take that kindly.

Pookie also said Bob can't remember putting a logo on anything in a long time. I know from experience Bob would have remembered doing a logo in the last 10 days.
Also Bob was building Cues with Tim as his partner in 1974 long before 1978 and before that they build for Danny at Joss. Bob told me Bill couldn't build a Cue and didn't know anything about how to build a Cue until Tim and Bob taught him. He also said Bill came real close to having his butt tanned by Bob. Bob hates the man. He isn't alone I have been told.
Everyone can attest to what they know. Well before you knew what you do Tim and Bob were doing what they do. Long before all these dates Bill made Tim his friend and then you people come along. Tony in Md is the only person in here that has half a clue. Problem is he hate my guts for exposing fake SouthWest Cues.
Why? Can't say.
Merry Christmas,
Nick:)
If you bought this Cue and you think it is a TS Cue good for you.
The seller did sell me a nice Cue and had a couple more. I was offered this Cue for $1000. In Cali they say Pass a deena.

Also have pic of the box bob frey sent the cue back in I will try to upload as well. 240 for new shaft new logo and shipping back. Again iam 99.9% sure it was logoed by Bob Frey and maybe nick misheard bob about the logo job cause Bob definately stamped the logo on.

I haven't talked with Bob yet

He said he was going to be buisy with family for a couple weeks. But I cab guarantee you this.
That is Bob's chicken scratchings.
Happy for you Eric. Nice to see someone out there care enough about what they sell to do right by everyone.
Merry Christmas,
Nick Serdula

don't you think an apology including: "I WAS WRONG", "I STAND CORRECTED" etc. is in order

Glad my CHRISTMAS shopping is done, MERRY CHRISTMAS, adam

Tony

I have a great many friends that buy TS Cues.
We look out for each other.
I would hate to see a bogus TS sold to one of my buddies.
Wouldn't you?
Merry Christmas,
Nick :)

Well, it would really be nice that a person doesn't start a "bogus" thread about a cue that he doesn't "know" is bogus. But then again, spreading misinformation is right in your wheelhouse.

When I was shown this Cue last month it had no logo and was described as unknown. I see it is on ebay now and has a TS logo.
Think of it what you will.
I have bought a Cue from this seller and also have told him to loose my number.
That was before this Cue grew a logo.
Seems I saw the BS coming down the track so to speak.
That being said here is the Cue with an old butt cap and no logo.
Caviet emp ouch.
Merry Christmas every body,
Nick Serdula

....oops....

Bob will only logo a Cue that already had a logo. If the butt cap is damaged he will replace it. If Bob put a logo on this Cue he must have built it. But Bob has just about no memory today especially concerning previous builds. He knows his work when he sees it. I talked with Bob 2 days ago just before seeing this Cue with the logo added. I will make it a point to ask if Bob himself did the logo. I did tell the owner to send it to Bob.
If he did he might be the only one of a very few that has ever taken that advise.
Without asking Mr Bob I can only say what I saw. A cue with no logo and then the same Cue with a logo added.
Nick :)

....oh vey....

Tim would not logo a Cue if he didn't like the final result. He would destroy them usually in front of a full shop. Every now and then a friend of the shop would beg the Cue. And Tim would discount it accordingly. The front of this Cue has a bad blemish. That is why I said I doubted Tim would put his name on it.
The owner dies. Never sold the Cue as he promised and it gets sold for $200.
It is not a TS Cue guys. It is a no logo second at best. More than likely given to a friend at best. I knew that when I saw the Cue.
Experts you say.
Knew right away you say.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight,
Nick :)

...newt....

Bob did not have anything to do with this Cue growing a logo.
He has no idea what people are doing putting a logo that Tim and he owned on anything.
Only Bob Frey has any business authenticating Tim's and his Cues.
Bob built them.
Bob asked me if he could send people my way to authenticate their work because he was to busy and didn't have time to in his opinion waste for them.
I refused.
I want absolutely nothing to do with it.
I know bull crap when I see it though.
As for Bill, Tim and Bob taught Bill and Tony at BB Cues how to make a Cue.
Bill also learned to never call Bob Dude.
If a TS Cue has no logo Bob built it. No ifs and or buts.
That is why nobody and I mean no body takes these no logo Cue to Bob for his evaluation.
They will get their feelings hurt
.

Nick :)

up to 11.....

the cue was not logoed by bob. That is what the subject here is. No one really with any sense probably cares. But i can tell you i will never own a cue built by bill.
Ask his shop how he treated them. The only thing bill did teach tim was how to run his business. Bill was a business man. For only that tim was grateful.
Nick :)

Chaff that wheat,
Nick :)

Good example how some people don't know the specifics of cues, including Scruggs. As I said early on, the point length, point separation at the wrap, the wrap itself, the ring pattern, and the shaft insert bevels give the best information on the cue's origin. Nick, on the other hand, has not a clue. Thankfully, there were several posters who recognized the specifics. This has been, and will always be the case.

All the best,
WW

+1

Just like fake Southwests being sold on AZ.

I love these threads where Nick gives everyone "facts" and declares himself an "expert". And then turns out to be wrong. It was like Christmas came early this year! Thanks for the entertainment Nick!

Brutal....

Brutal....

Not brutal. Truthful.

Remember the wrapless, fullsplice Scruggs that Nick knew for a fact wasn't a Scruggs and pointed out all the reasons that were a dead giveaway as to WHY it wasn't a Scruggs... then it turned out (Ooooops) it was a Scruggs.

And then there was tikkler's mystery cue that Nick KNEW was a Scruggs. There were dead giveaways as to how you could tell it was a Scruggs. "It's easy to tell (it's a Scruggs) when you know what to look for" said Nick. Only... it wasn't a Scruggs. It was an old Tascarella.

Never before have I seen an authority be SO SURE and SO ARROGANT... and so wrong. So many times. It's great reading material!
