Bonus Ball Makes the Vegas news!!!

nope they will all be behind poker machines with their bonus points cards stuffed in the front of them working on building up points for that next buffet , nobody can over come that.

Not even on opening night?

Nice piece, wonder if it will bring some fans to watch.

Yeah, as just a viewer of the video for a news spot, that's the first thing I seen. How exciting it was for the crowd  Even if the matches had not started, image is everything...

At least hire some stand ins during the news plug. lol...

Some of you know that I run a tour that is not pool related - it was written up on the front page of the Wall Street Journal, additional video and artilcle linked to their website and then linked to front page of yahoo, msn. etc. etc. It wasn't like this new breed came out for the next event I had. The notoriety was nice for 15 minutes.

Sorry JAM - love ya but there is really nothing schweettttt about it. People just need to be realistic. Until pool gets back on ESPN to replace things such as the Spelling Bee National Championship they are showing tonight, there will not be a dent made.

I'm just trying to be optimistic. :p

When we were in Vegas for the IPT, it got on the local news too. I remember watching it on a casino TV, all 2 minutes of it.

The majority of the audience at the tournament were friends and families of the players and the players themselves. :frown:

If not they should take a page from KT and hire some. Im sure they are encouraging players & staff to get their friends, relatives and unknown strangers into that arena.

It should be like a new pool room-If you dont kill'm opening week, you are probably in big trouble.

Yesterday evening J.Archer with his team mates ( all dressed in their team uniform) came to the Venue of VNEA Nationals ( at Ballys casino). They were saying hello etc to the league players and posed for the pictures etc.

Congratulations to the BB media relations person who pulled it off.

The advantage of the news item is that it legitimizes BB in the eyes of other media. BB can use it to pitch stories with other media. It's a building process.

Media are sheep. I should know.

The funny thing is that I live in Las Vegas and I've been in the Cue Club, Pool Sharks, and Mickey's several times over the last week and I have yet to see a flyer with information about BB yet. NOTHING..........LOL
No promotion at all in the local pool rooms, if they are going to fill the seats at the arena it's going to be with the other teams involved with BB, not even the BB website gives the address of the arena.
I saw Mad Max last night at Mickey's and even he did not have the address but he was able to give me basic directions on how to find the arena

So do you know the address of the Bonus Ball arena. Please post it up here if you do.

I don't have the address, neither did Max but he told me that the BB arena was in a two story office building behind the La Quinta Inn on Surrey Street near Sunset & Eastern (by the Airport)
Actually Max said there are 2 office buildings behind the La Quinta Inn and the BB arena was in the second building.
Max also said there is NO signs on or outside the office building anywhere for BB so keep an eye out for anyone with a cue case over their shoulder walking into the building so I would know where to go....LOL

Their website says this:

World Professional Billiard League
6745 Surrey St
Las Vegas, NV
89119, United States

Every time you go on the BB website, with each click, two players photos come up on each side. It's kind of cool. Very detailed photos, BTW. I hadn't seen Earl Strickland in a long time. He looks so different now!

Overall the website is very cool.
The only thing I can't understand is the complete lack of promotion in the local pool rooms by the BB people. You think that they would be trying to get a big crowd there cheering on the players to raise the excitement level in the arena.

Growing pains, I would surpmise. They do need a public affairs department to handle this kind of stuff. That has been missing.

The website is pretty slick. Still missing pictures of some of the players and pictures of the merch that it says will be added later this week. Also prices for the merch seems reasonable 20 bucks for t-shirts and 22 for hats. I might even buy one or the other once I can see what they look like...and after I hear about some other people that bought some to see what their experience was like.
