Bonus Ball Schedule Changes

You know, I just took me a peek at the pro players list for the Ultimate 10-Ball Championship and the Southern Classic. Ultimate is June 16-20 and Southern Classic runs right after it on June 21-29. I noticed that Johnny Archer is playing in both events. It is kind of neat that they run consecutively for the pro players as far as travel. :)

What I don't understand, is how come the Bonus Ball has a gap in their schedule for June 16-20, allowing the players to compete in the Ultimate, yet the Bonus Ball resumes play on June 21st -- the *EXACT SAME TIME* as Southern Classic? What is that all about?! :angry:

In another thread, Fast Lenny wrote to Mark Griffin that Mark's events are safe from Bonus Ball schedule. Is Bonus Ball going to change their schedule for Mark Griffin's event to allow the players to go to Mark Griffin's tournaments?

Well, what about Greg Sullivan's Southern Classic on June 21-29? If Bonus Ball can accommodate Ultimate and Mark Griffin's events, why can't they do it for Greg Sullivan's Southern Classic? It would seem to me that this would not only be nice for the pro players, allowing them to earn some extra dough, but it would make sense economically speaking for them if they're already in Tunica. ;)

If Bonus Ball schedule ran simultaneously with Ultimate *and* Southern Classic, I wouldn't pose this question, but I just looked at the Bonus Ball schedule, and it seems to me like Bonus Ball altered their schedule to allow the players to compete in Ultimate. If Bonus Ball can do it for Ultimate, why not Southern Classic? Especially since both tournaments, Ultimate and Southern Classic, are back to back in the same exact place, same town, same venue. :o

Now, I recognize this Ultimate promoter is the darling of the blue bloods in the pool world today because of his kind generosity and willingness to make something happen. But to run over Greg Sullivan like this, who's been making something happen for years, well, this doesn't sit right with me as a pool fan. In fact, after looking at that Bonus Ball schedule, I think it stinks to high heaven. :mad:

Is this a deliberate move on Bonus Ball's part to run over Greg Sullivan's Southern Classic? How come that Johnny Archer always gets favoritism, this time from Bonus Ball, and the other players can't play in Southern Classic like he is? What's up with that? :eek:

If Johnny can do it, then so, too, should those other players.

Something doesn't gel right here. If BB is going to accommodate one, they should do it for all, and that not only includes the players, but it also includes valued pool promoters like Greg Sullivan. :(

I'm all for the players being able to earn a living, but not with this kind of hanky panky with the Bonus Ball schedule. Something ain't right here.
 
Jam, your talking about an amateur event. WPBL is a professional league. There is no entry fee and not anyone can play! Imagine the NFL cancelling games for the South Western amateur football league. What are you thinking? Go enjoy a great amateur tournament, watch Shane and Mike take home all your money and I just hope I never see Shane or Dechaine where team colors in a professional league. These guys are letting Darren Appleton, Archer and the rest of the professionals pave a way for young players to have a professional league and your crying about an amateur event! Get real!

Had these "Amateur events" not taken place for all these years these so called pros wouldnt even still be playing pool...They would have had zero income and be shucking oysters somewhere in a swamp rat infested town on the gulf coast..U may have just had the stupidest post i ever read on here..

The southern classic is not a amateur event it a huge open event
So before you go messing with the queen of the forum you should at least know what you are talking about

Bonus Ball has not changed their schedule.

They went right over Greg Sullivan's Southern Classic event - and right over my (CSI) events in July. My events are not safe from this conflict. We are just going ahead and will do what we said we will do.

The kinda missed Ultimate 10-Ball because it is during the week. I think BB may have rescheduled one day to help out.

And you are right, this is an unfortunate error on the part of Bonus Ball. There was no logical reason to force the player's to choose.

I am quite certain 'kittykat' is just a shill for Bonus Ball. I just don't think people understand the possible repercussions if the Bonus Ball scheduling conflicts are determined to have had a negative affect on existing events.

I don't wish anyone a bod result - I support pool. But BB should have give more thought to their schedule.

Mark, You'd be well off, if 'KittyKat' WAS a shill for BB...I have more time than you, so I checked out his 17 posts, in the member's section...He is barely capable of forming sentences, let alone 'shill' for anything !... Not trying to insult him/her, just wonder what he/she, is doing on a pool forum, when he/she knows absolutely NOTHING, about ANYTHING pool related ?

I really think that the Bonus Ball creator had a great idea.

I just wish he thought of the big picture before he did this bulldozer schedule. Shame on him for thinking his events were more important then others.

There is no winner if we lose events like Derby City.

There should be a bonus ball season,like other sports.

52 weeks a year will bore tv people. (if it makes it to tv)

SO if there is a bb season (7 months a year), other huge events will be able to go ahead (or like we say in this household goathead,,,lol)

Anyway, kind of torn on what I am wishing for in this new pool outing.

Of course they BONUS BALL want conflict, and people missing the events. And when fans asks where's so and so, they will get the answer he's playin BOGUS BALL.

BOGUS BALL already shit all over Greg/Diamond with taking the Chinese tables.

You don't see any PROS standing up for diamond or Greg do you? They don't care, they have and always will look for the easiest handout. They have no respect for the hand that's fed em forever.

Oh boy I see the writing on the wall. What happens when the other events don't welcome the bonus ball players...shit gonna hit the fan.
 
I just ran an event in march, 7k added only. Had 128 open players, 32 seniors in their event, 28 women in e totheir event, and 16 in 2 different invitational events. Filled up 4 of the 5 events. Promoting and getting people to the events I'm good at. That's what I like to do, not make a fortune from the events.

2 weeks after a local businessman approaches me with this. He loved seeing some of the top pros in the world there playing, offered me 50k to add to a pro event. I laughed and told him never in a million years would I do that, he says why, I tell him how ungrateful they are, and he says A ok, I trust you.

Now would I take the 50k and divide or do it with different events, quite possibly and we may, but I would never cater to the "PROS". They definitely don't make events succesful. The amateurs always make the events a success.

I agree Mrs. G...Bonus Ball has some very unique concepts, but they also seem to have some horrendous management skills !...They have done just about everything wrong, they possibly could have !...If they don't get some major funding, or network TV acceptance, their chances of survival are VERY bleak.

I don't know, (or care) what Mr. Chibarok's financial portfolio looks like...But he better be prepared to go 'all in, down to the cloth' if he is going to pull this thing off...I believe his efforts are sincere, but his business model is much worse, than even Kevin Trudeau's was...And we all know how quick he bailed !..I give 'em one season, TOP'S !!!

Bonus ball IMO is an absolute joke!! In the opening post jam
Ask why Johnny can play in both events it's because he is lead face of bonus ball an in my opinion probably has a lot to say with the scheduling.. Like I said in a previous thread bogus ball is not going to do anything for the game of pool except hurt.. Johnny has way to much power an influence an as u can see he uses to
Benefit himself b being able to play at mark griffin events as well as tunica

I believe JA will be playing in the World games in July. There is no money in tha for him other than representing his country. Well its either during tunica or during th CSI events. its hard to knock him on that one.

Archer ain't no fool. He knows that teh Southern Classic is worth 25,000 BCA points. While his brethren of players is in Vegas shooting pool for empty stands, Johnny will be enjoying the limelight at the Southern Classic collecting those precious 25,000 BCA points, securing his spot in the Mosconi Cup. ;)
