You're not answering my thread. You're asking me why I posed an interrogatory to another member? You seem to be jacking me on this thread at every turn. If you have something to say about this topic, then say it, but don't single me out.

Haha, don't single you out? It's your thread. You started a thread complaining very brashly about Bonus Ball, and then demanded the full name and age of someone who questioned you. Nobody's singling you out.

I know jam and some others think bonus ball did this maliciously.
This doesn't seem plausible to me.

What do they gain out of preventing someone from playing in any given tournament?
If anything, the scheduling snafu puts BB at risk because they may lose a top name player
that week. I'd be mad if I came to watch Corey Deuel and instead it's Teddy Garahan (no offense).

I doubt their goal is to wreck tournaments one by one until there's nothing left but bonus ball.
This isn't some villain with an evil master plan.

I think they simply want 26 weeks in a row without delays or unpredictable shifts.
They want something viewers can reliably tune into every week, vs "let me check and see if it's on".
At some point during a 26 week stretch you're bound to conflict with something, somewhere.
If the southern classic is the biggest (or only) tournament affected, they could have done worse.

I do agree this is a loaded poll, it's too black-and-white,
The scheduling conflict strikes me more as a necessary evil,
which is hard to label as flat out right or flat out wrong.

You'd come away with a different view if you were Greg Sullivan, Creedo.

Here's what Meximan wrote:

Season number 2 is scheduled to start the first week of February (after the DCC) and run during the down time of most major american events. This was our goal in the first place but due to the unforeseen construction issue we have been pushed back until now. In a perfect world we would have started in November of this year but that just was not an option. Our investors needed the product to be able to sell, as we all know it is tough to sell from an empty cart.

They already have had some matches and could have given Greg this week for the Southern Classic by not scheduling. It's one week. They can pick up immediately thereafter.

It is quite obvious to me that the tail wagging the Bonus Ball dog is inexperienced and not seasoned in the business world.

It has been mentioned several times on this forum that they need a public relations person instead of Meximan, Nathan, and Fast Lenny posting on AzBilliards. If AzBilliards isn't their target market, I'm not sure why they even waste their time here.

Several years ago, an MMA group came out with a platform of having tournament around the world. This entity was going to compete with the UFC. Fedor Emelianko was to them what Johnny Archer is to Bonus Ball. They had different teams with names, like Bonus Ball. I think Russia was the Red Devils, if memory serves me right. It lasted two seasons before it sank. Just didn't sell, I guess.

It was a good concept with excellent video footage. I really enjoyed it, but it sank faster than the Titanic. :(

I'm sure he meant well, but it's not a favor when it comes with a massive price tag.

An unforeseen delay occurred, and given the sizable investment involved, delaying another 6 months wasn't realistic. What you're suggesting would be virtually setting fire to over $70k in lost rent, to help out a fellow industry person. A nice deed that would be, but not one that any sane person would do.

I wasn't aware that posting to AZB 24,000 times was considered "work" Jen.

Look, Nathan, I like you. I really do. I admire your youth and innovativeness. Your zest for production of high-quality videos is like no other I've seen in the industry. I mean this sincerely. :)

Change the damn schedule, and change it now.

I can post on AzBilliards and do my job just fine. I have to use a computer for my job. It helps, of course, to type 150-plus words per minute, number one.

Change that schedule, and I will put you back on my birthday cake list, okay?

If the schedule ain't changed, things will never be the same.

Ask Greg to change his already-existing dates with the casino? Uh, take a course in Logistics 101 and get back to me. Your "remedy" is so bizarre that is doesn't even warrant a dignified reply. Greg's event starts in 10 days Are you actually serious? If you are, then God bless you. You'll need when you grow up and live in the real business world.

That's my point, it's a viable option but not feasible. So is the entire premise of what you are arguing...why can't you see that?

You're biggest issue, you seem to not recognize the difference between a league and independent event. Once you get that, you'll see how incredibly flawed your logic is.

This analogy doesn't work. I'm assuming you're referring to M-1, but their (and most other promotions who tried similar things) problem was that Fedor was the only big star they had.

If anything (and even this is a stretch, but it's closer than your analogy), Bonus Ball are the UFC right now, and Shane -- one of the biggest names in the sport and one of the only big names not to sign with Bonus Ball -- is Fedor. Neither analogy really works, but this one is a lot closer than the one you were putting across.

As for the issue at hand (if it is an issue), Nathan summed it up rather well, I think. It would be a nice thing for Bonus Ball to continue to schedule around other events as plans change, but it's ridiculous to expect them to do it, especially at their own cost.

Now Nathan since you made some personal comments towards JAM, let's open this up a bit - I have some more misinformation to post that I am sure you can clear up. Were you the only one left behind to 'monitor' the contractor when that snafu occurred? Were you the one that was suppose to report back to Larry in Canada what was going on with the construction?

You have told us time and time again how hard you are working. For 6 months on your Facebook page it was chillin at the Cosmo time.

Did Larry tell the owner of Kamui that the BB website got 500,000 views in one day?

Is the owner of Kamui one of BB's so-called "investors"?

One thing about being at my self-employed job, the only person I have to report to is myself. I'm given leeway to post on AzBilliards whenever the urge arises. :D

potential -

the world is full of potential investors

No sir. Larry is in charge of the construction. My family owns a construction company, and I was raised doing exactly that, however I stayed clear as that was Larry's baby. I did however provide my input in terms of technical requirements and set design, but that was in the original design of the plans (a year ago now), and then in the final 4-6 weeks leading up to launch of how I needed power circuits, conduit run, and lighting truss suspended.

I've been out maybe a dozen times in the 8 months that I've lived here. Also, that was back when we were waiting on construction and working normal hours (40-50 hour weeks, and not this insane 120+). I don't always bust my ass and have been known to take entire months off, but I work harder than anyone I know when it's go-time. Every player here will attest to that, as a few tried to intervene yesterday in concern for my health (not kidding). My version of a break lately is 5-10 minutes on the studio pool table twice daily.

Did Larry tell the owner of Kamui that the BB website got 500,000 views in one day?

I have no idea, but Larry can barely work his email. Given his lack of tech understanding, it's quite possible that he thought the 550,000 requests we got that day were unique views (pretty certain you know that those are drastically different).

Jam... Since you seem to have all the answers (well at least you think you do), I see it's time to quit replying to your posts.

Your going to miss me.

But it is time to say "Adios Amigo"

Poor guy. I feel sorry for Larry now. I'm thinking he's been duped by people in his ear. Now I believe he has no idea what he's stepped in.

He should have hired competent and experienced staff to handle the various functions. This will contribute to the failure of Bonus Ball, much more so than lack of interest.

I did an interview of John McCain in the 2008 U.S. presidential campain when he admitted that he did not know how to use e-mail. Meanwhile, Obama's campaign was using Twitter, Facebook, and every social media outlet available. I knew right then that McCain would lose, and as we all know, he did lose big time.

Well I did get an invite by one of the players for tickets when I am there in July to come down and see what all the fuss is about. I might bring my popcorn and check it out to see what 1.5 million dollars looks like. .

Totally fair Greg at Diamond should surely reimburse the rent money and losses if he'd like to shut a business down.

Let's be for real you think independent events shut down out of respect lol? You're a mess JAM. They shut down because it hurts the pocket book that's why. It's about the money, you'd be kidding yourself to think it isn't.

If I ever had to listen to you for business advice, I hope somebody shoots me first.

I like reading your posts as you get older and more senile, it's a blast. You're gonna be smooth off your rocker in a few more years...you pass it out all day and lately try to throw the 60 year old woman card out there like that means you can say what you want, but it is a cop out. LOL you even think you're important enough for internet soldiers to mount up against you, like ohhh noooo the Texas boys. You're soooo cool.

I'm still waiting to hear how bonus ball is winning here. The southern classic will still go on and be successfull. Even more successful than bonus ball.

The fact is that if bonus ball wasn't a Canadian company this poll wouldn't exist.

Wow, what a train wreck of a thread. I'm not sure I want to even post my thoughts having a business degree and spending a decent amount of time with marketing aspects (including creating business plans).

I'll give you a hint though...$ just MIGHT be a factor in some of this conversation.

I don';t know Mikey - I have been successful in my tour and feel I am the biggest/best but also made sure that I didn't step on anyone that I felt was 'lesser' than what I was doing. In fact, i have offered them assistance physically, technologically, and with promotion of their event.

Believe me, mikeyfrost, what you think of me makes no difference whatsoever. I just consider the source. :grin-square:

You showed your true colors when you embellished my PM to you in defense of your friend. Though I admire loyalty in this regard, I don't care for those who disseminate untruths in an effort to further their own gain. It displays a lack of integrity.

Just so you know, though, I've been saying whatever I want since before you were born. It's a right I have under the Constitution of these United States. I also have the right to the pursuit of happiness, which means nothing you can do or say will interfere with this.

As far as your "Texas boys," I have friends in Texas, so you're not the lone soldier here. The only difference is that I don't need my friends to surround me when I take a stance.

Now, you have yourself a very nice day, okay? :)
