BS! He does PLENTY of "controverting." I love you "revisionist history" guys who just spout off comments that have no factual basis! LOL.

In FACT...he made the same point I was making...but HUNDREDS OF POSTS earlier than I did such as post # 105

"The overall discussion of this thread is like...(graphic) BEATING A DEAD HORSE."

Again, he was making the exact same general point that I was....SIR.

So OBVIOUSLY, he was just sniping at me personally...which I could care less about. But what I do think borders on the pathetic is his choice of argument...that a stinking 300 bucks is some big deal to JAY HELFERT...which is a JOKE...as Jay has ALREADY stated VERY CLEARLY.

He stated that A) he hates being stiffed and B) that he only brought up the matter to protect other AZers from getting stiffed too.

I MERELY posted that I was very surprised that this thread has gone on as long as it has....NOT that I don't think the guy is a jerk-ass weasle...which I DO....and that the thread was....ummmm...."beating a dead horse"

PS: At LEAST I didn't start a thread that insults the vast majority of the members of this forum by telling them they should be ashamed of themselves for not tuning into TAR...a concept that VERY few agree with...MANY have openly disagreed with and IMHO counts as one of the most wrong-headed posts on this forum in recent memory.

yeah i dunno who the guy is just seemed strange same last name in such a small area... didn't think jeff played well enough to cash... btw i know what he looks like and how he is... i've also met jay at a friends room at the dcc... i've followed this thread since the beginning because i know what kinda guy jeff is... he woofed at me over the internet when i first came back playing after a few years off while he was living in birmingham and was full of it back then... all talk and 4 games of action when it came down to it. he didn't know me and not that i am anybody or ever was but he was and is a joke!

Jay, Why don't you be the stand up guy here that you are. You certainly don't need the $300.. That little bit of money is not going to change your life one way or the other, but to a guy that's just scraping by that $300 might mean the world to him. Cut the kid a break, Let him slide, Tell him people don't usually give total strangers a helping hand. Tell him to pass along the favor one day when he sees someone in need if he can help. and tell him if he ever gets back on his feet to remember what you did for him.. Maybe this guy one day will remember you, Maybe he will pass on the favor to someone in need.. Maybe he will not.. but at least you will know that you were a decent enough guy to cut someone a break when they were down and out.. Am I saying your not a decent guy? No, I'm not saying that. Am I saying you will not be a decent guy if you continue to try and collect? No, I'm not saying that. To close it out.. Was it right of this guy to take ends and not pay up? No, It wasn't.. Would I be upset if this happened to me? Of course.. Should you let people take advantage of you just because you have money and they don't? No, You shouldn't.. But sometimes it's ok to take a step back, Look at the situation, Then look at yourself and where your at and cut someone who less fortunate a break. Will everyone catch my view of this? Probably not. Like I said, Try to imagine yourself in this spot.. Just lost your job and struggling to survive.. What would you do.

The man said he was just expressing his opinion and his message was tolerance for people down on their luck. Why do some people have to jump on other with "when you grow up" and similar flames like that...which are themselves immature?

But Nine Ball, while I don't think your views were the least bit juvenile, I do think you missed a critical point. The guy/man/kid whatever he is...flat out LIED to Jay.

There is ZERO doubt in my mind that had he communicated to Jay that he made a mistake in commiting to the deal...was broke and didn't know where his rent was coming from...was SORRY and would pay up the first chance he got, Jay would never have started this thread.

As he has said over and over, he could care less about the dollars but cares A LOT about being lied to repeatedly...AS WELL HE SHOULD.

The difference in the 2 threads, this thread directly affects people and their personal lives. Jay got stiffed out of 300, 9 people would have recieved less money for John winning because Actionhound WOULD have recieved his cut. If they would have denied him his cut for not posting, this thread would read "booo jay helfert". The other thread is just long and boring, you could merge 90 threads in the past year about Males vs Females in pool. If it were up to me, this thread would be stickied for atleast a year.

Oh...and insulting people does not affect their personal lives? Do you think that money is the only thing that affects people's lives?

YOU may be bored with the discussion about how women stack up against men...and I genuinely respect that. But here's the POINT. The subject obviously does not bore a LOT of other people as your own comment about the large number of such threads/posts proves.

In addition, you exercised your right to announce that you were bored with the other thread and I didn't come sniping at you for expressing that view did I? Can't I do the EXACT same thing without being set upon?

JAY has said that he doesn't give a rip about the money but rather about being lied to...and it is JAY's thread.
