I've been checking the IPT chart, but no names have been advanced with the STRANGE exception of "Ferrel," which is Sparky from North Carolina.
Sparky's name "Ferrel" is on the one-loss side. So, either he forfeited or he lost FAST and all the other races-to-10 are still in progress.
Didn't this start at 10:00 this morning?

Wiley and Breedlove are going to be a good matchup. Ismael lost to Ernesto. Too bad they had to match up right away against each other. Also Dave Matlock lost his first match. The Europeans seem to be holding their own so far.
Is anyone else having weird problems with the site when you click on it and magnifying the boards, it keeps clicking and reshifting over after 10 seconds or so? Could be the new browser I started using.

Just a note to say that this IPT qualifier is absolutely nuts ... tough field and everyone is fighting tooth and nail to get the 2 spots. Lots of tension in the room, heavy sweating and very exciting!
Oscar Dominguez (Ernesto's son) beat Morro Paez hill-hill! Louis Ulrich (after a forfeit from Sparky Ferrell!) beat Shane VanBoening 10-7 after being down 3-7. I don't know Frankie Hernandez (or his opponent) but I heard Frankie had a major flight delay, had lack of sleep and arrived barely in time for the players' meeting.
Got to go back and sweat some more!

Frankie, God love him, seems to have a habit of showing up fashionably late for tournaments in recent times. I know he had to fly in from NYC. Hope he scores a few wins on the B side.

Robbie Foldvari has been a world champion in English Billiards. For years he was in the top few. Also was a pro-snooker player and has made a 147 in competition I believe.TheOne said:
Never seen him get far in pool comps, but he's always tough to play. If he's been putting time into pool like he used to for billiards and snooker he'll be a dangerous player.

In English billiards, which is played on a snooker table, you score 3 points for potting or scratching off the red, and 2 points for potting or scratching on the opponent's Cue Ball. Also, 2 points for making a cannon (same as a carom). With just 3 balls on the table, you continue until you miss a shot.watchez said:

Under today's rules it is pretty impressive. The famous Walter Lindrum, who many argue was the greatest player ever once made over 4,000 in a break.
These guys can scratch from anywhere....very good CB control.

He said he arrived at the hotel just in time for the 9:30 players meeting. I asked him why he didn't come out & play in the tourney. He said it was too long... If she was standing or sitting she was wringing whatever poor object happen to be in her hand at the time. Or she was peeking in the room to see how things were going. LOL, I pick on her because I do the same thing. The first time I ever saw JAM, she was outside the tourney room peeking in from the door. I just chuckled because I knew exactly what she was doing. (sigh) the stress these guys put us through!!

It would be more correct to say snooker is played on an English billiards table Colin. I know you knew that. Admittedly they're set up more for snooker nowadays though. Ultra fast, fast cushions, and shaved naps - all anathema to billiards. Lindrum even carried his own cushions around with him. He would be reluctant to play without his own cue or preferred composite balls, but would refuse point blank to play on anything but his own cushions.
