does anybody know where the bracket is for the ipt at the dcc. if there is 1. shane vandoening received a first round buy. sounds like alex is in his near future also. would like to see the draw.:)

Tour cards ...

I like how the tour cards look. Sure would be neat
to have one of those in your wallet.... lol

I've been checking the IPT chart, but no names have been advanced with the STRANGE exception of "Ferrel," which is Sparky from North Carolina.

Sparky's name "Ferrel" is on the one-loss side. So, either he forfeited or he lost FAST and all the other races-to-10 are still in progress. :o

Didn't this start at 10:00 this morning?

Wiley and Breedlove are going to be a good matchup. Ismael lost to Ernesto. Too bad they had to match up right away against each other. Also Dave Matlock lost his first match. The Europeans seem to be holding their own so far.

Is anyone else having weird problems with the site when you click on it and magnifying the boards, it keeps clicking and reshifting over after 10 seconds or so? Could be the new browser I started using.

The site refreshes every 10 seconds I think, which is helpful I guess when they update it. :p

New York City's Frankie Hernandez lost to a player named "Robby Foldvari." I did a Google search on his name, and he's a snooker player from Australia, I think. Anyone know anything about Robby?

I played in Sydney with him a few times, a good player who mainly plays snooker and 8 ball.

Just a note to say that this IPT qualifier is absolutely nuts ... tough field and everyone is fighting tooth and nail to get the 2 spots. Lots of tension in the room, heavy sweating and very exciting!

Oscar Dominguez (Ernesto's son) beat Morro Paez hill-hill! Louis Ulrich (after a forfeit from Sparky Ferrell!) beat Shane VanBoening 10-7 after being down 3-7. I don't know Frankie Hernandez (or his opponent) but I heard Frankie had a major flight delay, had lack of sleep and arrived barely in time for the players' meeting.

Got to go back and sweat some more!

MAJOR win for Oscar. Bravo, bravo, bravo! Ernesto must be proud as punch!:)

Very sad news about Sparky's forfeit, especially considering the 2 dimes for the entry fee.

Frankie, God love him, seems to have a habit of showing up fashionably late for tournaments in recent times. I know he had to fly in from NYC. Hope he scores a few wins on the B side.

Thanks for the update. Please come back! :o

Robbie Foldvari has been a world champion in English Billiards. For years he was in the top few. Also was a pro-snooker player and has made a 147 in competition I believe.

Never seen him get far in pool comps, but he's always tough to play. If he's been putting time into pool like he used to for billiards and snooker he'll be a dangerous player.

Robbie Foldvari might just be the greatest player no one ever heard of. His bio is impressive.

What does it mean that he was able "to make a 1000 break at billiards " and his high break in billiards is 1164?` Colin can you explain to me what this means.

In English billiards, which is played on a snooker table, you score 3 points for potting or scratching off the red, and 2 points for potting or scratching on the opponent's Cue Ball. Also, 2 points for making a cannon (same as a carom). With just 3 balls on the table, you continue until you miss a shot.

So a break of 1164 is probably just over 500 straight scoring shots.

Under today's rules it is pretty impressive. The famous Walter Lindrum, who many argue was the greatest player ever once made over 4,000 in a break.

These guys can scratch from anywhere....very good CB control.

I too was looking forward to seeing CJ playing again but either he was having a really off day or he hasn't been practicing. :(

Frankie was supposed to fly out on Fri evening but the flight was delayed due to the weather. He ended up spending the night in the airport and then flew out at 6:30 am. He said he arrived at the hotel just in time for the 9:30 players meeting. I asked him why he didn't come out & play in the tourney. He said it was too long... I understand that it's long and grueling but at least come out & play in the 9 ball event. Frankie was going up against guys that have been playing on these tables all week long.

"sweat some more"??? LOL, are you kidding me?? This chick gives sweating matches a whole new meaning! While sitting in the tourney room we could see her pacing back & forth out in the hallway. If she was standing or sitting she was wringing whatever poor object happen to be in her hand at the time. Or she was peeking in the room to see how things were going. LOL, I pick on her because I do the same thing. The first time I ever saw JAM, she was outside the tourney room peeking in from the door. I just chuckled because I knew exactly what she was doing. (sigh) the stress these guys put us through!! :)

Robbie is better known as an English Billiards player than a snooker player, but never pulled any up trees. There again, I think that's because he's primarily a billiards player, not a tree surgeon. I think he faints at the sight of sap.

It would be more correct to say snooker is played on an English billiards table Colin. I know you knew that. Admittedly they're set up more for snooker nowadays though. Ultra fast, fast cushions, and shaved naps - all anathema to billiards. Lindrum even carried his own cushions around with him. He would be reluctant to play without his own cue or preferred composite balls, but would refuse point blank to play on anything but his own cushions.

Yes, you're right Boro Nut! Snooker was a relatively recent development on the English Billiards Tables.

When I was young, my favored game was english billiards and used to regularly play against my father who was and still is one of our hometown's better players.
