This weekend we are having a "All - Around weekend" in Oslo, playing a tournament everyday. 10-ball today, 8-ball tomorrow and 9-ball on Saturday. All matches race to 7, with handicap. (Games on wire from 0-4).

I just felt the need to brag about my perfect performance in the 10-ball today.

I managed to pocket the total of 4 (FOUR) balls in my two matches...

Never been so disgusted in my whole life.

Going for some beers now!
 
Take a couple of days off, get that s*** out of your system, come back to the table fresh. Best of luck and shrug it off.
 
lol you sound as bad as me. I played Caroline Pao (from Mezz USA) about 8 games of 10ball at Valley Forge. I think I got to the table 15-20 times and somehow only made 4 balls total.

Meanwhile, 2 days later I was back in stroke and ran a 3 pack with some pros watching. I wonder how it can be that the swings can be so drastic from day to day?

Well, I ended up with beers and giving a guy 9-6 in one-pocket instead of going to a bar. 15 $ a game, I lost the first 2. I still played bad, and the bet bored me so asked to play for $100 a game and change the hcp to me giving 10-6.

That was just what I needed, 3 in a row before he quit. Now it's time for more beers :)

I don't know what to say here......

I mean..."4" balls??? In "2" matches??? I'm no Allen Einstein, but by my math that averages out to roughly 2 (two) balls per match.

Is that counting the breaks also???

Short of telling you a bunch of lies, it's almost impossible to consol you after a performance like that!

Just one little nugget that will hopefully help you sometime....You be careful the next time you come stateside and match up with that JoeyA character! He's STILL going to ask you for weight! Don't give him none Roy! In hs post above, he's just trying to lay down the soft con on you! He wants to get inside your head and whisper bad things about your pool game. He's like that man! I was here when he unleashed on Walt Frazier!
Just be careful around him, that's all I'm gonna say!

Wait! Maybe, just maybe, ol' Roy is setting a trap for us Yanks! Who's to say that he only made a pitiful, lousy 4 balls in two matches? (Insert laugh track HERE)

Yea, is there any film? Any eye-witnesses? No. So something is fishy in Denmark. Or where-ever he played those so called "matches".

Roy, I know you to be one of the biggest lovers of pool on that side of the pond. You respect the players, love getting stats and play the game very, very well. And I also suspect this is your version of an April Fool's joke you are trying to play on us blokes! :eek: NOBODY could possibly shoot that terrible! :D

Either that, or your game just plain SUCKS!:D

I hope these sterling thoughts bring you some measure of comfort! :D

My game is such a roller coaster that Magic Mountain and Disney World
are bidding on it The City sends Safety Inspectors out every month to
check it out. :groucho:

I never know whether to bet for me or against me.

How I WISH it was a joke.... The first match I made 3 balls, including a 10. In the second match I played on the live-stream so people could watcj it too...

I played decent safeties and kicks though, that's why I played one-pocket

Well, it did get better.

Finished 5th in the 8-ball tournament and in the 9-ball today I finished 3rd and beat #1 in Norway with 7-1 in my first match. Lost to the same guy, Kim Soo, in the semi today as yesterdays quarterfinal, and he ended up being the "All-Around Champion" too...

Also, thanks for being a good sport with all the banter in this thread. It was meant to make you smile and we all know how it feels to shoot below what we're capable of! Can make you feel down on yourself. It's good to laugh sometimes.

I expected some laughs when I started the thread :)

It's the worst feeling ever not being able to make balls and see the obvious patterns. You know that you have the knowledge and skills to execute, but when getting ready to do it it's like Stevie Wonder is taking over and there is nothing you can do except poke and hope...

Hey, man................use this as a springboard. It is no secret, that after a sound drubbing, most players reboung and play MUCH better. I wouldn't want to be the person you play next.

I like the ole give a bigger spot and up the bet after losing two games move Roy. lol You hustler! :D I had a guy try to pull that on me recently - was getting 9-7, won 2 (for $10 a piece), he asked to play for $25 a game with me getting 9-6. Problem was, I woulda taken the bet EVEN - lol. He lost 2 more, threw a few things, and kicked something as well when I faked shock that he was quitting me. ;)
