Brand New Pool Table Projection System.

I agree it sounds like a great impromvent over how I do it now. But wouldn't you also agree that it would be better still if you:

1. Broke a rack or threw balls on the table.
2. Pushed a button.
3. The layout is instantly saved, including all OB's, and Cueball.

That would require a camera. Much added expense. Really not necessary as the tools in the system allow projection balls to be placed anywhere in a second or two.

-Do you still need the same type of projector that the other system needs?

-Does it need a computer? Or is it a standalone system? If a computer is needed, does it work with a Mac?

-Will the developer offer updates to the software and/or hardware as the system improves? Will they be free or paid? You mentioned the main problem with the other system is the developer stayed stagnant. Who is to say the new one won't do the same?

-What is the price? What is included in that price?

Yes, the same projector as the PPB
The computer is the Raspberry Pi as in the PPB (discount if you own a PPB)
About the only equipment change is this system uses a keyboard with track pad instead of a mouse which is about $25.
I know the developer and have for 12 years. Honest and Hardest working man I've ever known.
Please email to info@icatraining.com for your other questions

Here is a nine ball break with the 3 ball down. First picture with the real balls. Second picture with the projector. Took me 2 minutes to use the tools and project the balls. The pool light is off for the picture but the images can easily be seen with my 6,000 LED lights. In the third picture, I pushed one button and reversed the layout horizonally. In the forth, I reversed it vertically by pushing one button on the keyboard.

Denwhit, I spoke with Robin last night and am excited to see the demo he will be posting shortly. I am on board for sure as it sounds as if it will be a major upgrade over the PPB system I have now.
I do have a question that I forgot to ask last night. Is there a way to take a drill from a book and get it on the system, other than laying out the balls first and marking them. Like how you could kinda do with PPB calibration tool. But actually work a lot better than the PPB calibration tool did. I have Tor's Pattern Puzzle book and would love to get it loaded into the system...
Robins module on the PPB system are the best drills on the PPB system. Looking forward to his drills being part of the initial release of this new system.

We are hopeful Robin can work with Tor and his patterns. Once he has Tor's acceptance, Robin will load all of Tor's work and send out an attachment via email. Robin has so many items like this in the future. But, it is so easy to lay out the projection balls, you don't need to lay out the real balls to do it. Robin's tools make this so easy.
You can see the pictures I took above. I broke the balls and wanted to take a picture of them for this forum, but if I wanted to have that layout, all I would need is a picture in a book. Takes about 2 minutes. You could load all of Tor's puzzle book, save it in one morning worth of time. The you would have it, work on the originals or horizontally reverse it, or vertically reverse the patterns. How much is that worth?

That would require a camera. A camera must be centered overhead and higher than most house ceilings. ...
That last part is false. The camera doesn't need to be centered directly over the table any more than the projector needs to be centered.

Okay, I'm sure what you wrote is correct. I'll remove it.

I emailed these guys immediately after you posted info and never got a response yet. One would think these guys would want to sell their product and would be excited to get emails and respond right away but I guess not. I own multiple businesses so I know the feeling of starting something up and being excited to start selling but not impressed so far with no response after couple days.

He will respond. He teaches almost every day and works on the YouTube video right now, getting a website, etc. etc. I think I was a week early blasting about it. That is my fault. Over 20 people from AZB have written to his email. Just email again to info@icatraining.com and he'll respond after his teaching lesson. No one will be more responsive than Robin to anyone's concerns. I'll promise you that. He's working 20 hours per day right now.

How does this compare to the ipool system?

With the ipool setup, it also detects and calculates point depend on shot made and sometimes where cue ball ends up at depending on the challenge/drill. Here is a short clip from the BCA expo with my son.

In all seriousness...this is the early chapters of what will surely be a great training tool.

Like carbon fiber...and LD shafts before that, we are witnessing evolution.

Cool stuff.

This flip the vertical/horizontal axis feature is HUGE in terms of value. With the german PAT material, they always say to work on the drill and then reverse it to get both sides worked on. Having this feature will save a ton of time in terms of labeling the table, removing labels, then placing them back. You will just be able to coast right through and then save the pattern forever.

Very cool.

So the Ipool system looks at the balls as you place them and moves on to the next ball when you place the first one. It also automatically scores drills like Target Pool.

Here is the YouTube video just out; icatrainingsystem https://youtu.be/EbCeEsKB0J8?list=FLjMFtXYGo8FnxI_dOvC2dBQ
First edition, no speech yet.

The website is icatraining.com

After watching the youtube video, you can see how easy to copy Tor's Puzzle Patterns in. Might take a morning or so. After two days the keyboard get really handy and everything gets faster. The you can horizontally reverse them, and vertically reverse them. If you load his patterns do not try to sell them. ha Robin will be trying to contact Tor to get him to release his work so Robin can add the to his list of additions. But not yet.
