BREAKING NEWS: 8/28 Wed 9am, Archer on Today Show with Brooke Shields and Al Roker

Clearly, on a personal level, this is very exciting for JA. To be on national television, even for a minute and a half is really great for the ego, but....unless a major positive announcement having to do with the pool industry in general, it's otherwise irrelevant, unfortunately.

Of course, I wish him well, but I care more for the game.

I sure hope he gets more than 90 seconds of air time. Maybe 90 seconds for the shots, and then a few minutes to at least talk about the Mosconi Cup to promote it further. If the producer is a pool enthusiast as mentioned, JA should get a few minutes for promoting the game.

"Y'all gotta come root for Team USA at the Mosconi Cup, December 2-5, at the Mirage in Vegas. Watch Team America. win the 20th anniversary of the Mosconi Cup. See you there."

[Cut.] :thumbup2:

Hi Jen
I reckon you would have a great future as a writer of FICTION:D:D

Hi Jen

In the pool world, I guess fiction is better than reality in 2013.

I love courtroom dramas, and one of my favorite movie scenes is the colloquy between LT Daniel Kaffee and COL Nathen Jessup in "A Few Good Men." I think some folks may not be able to handle the truth in the pool world ---> HERE

Today is the 50th annivsary of the "I Have a Dream Speech" by Dr. Martin Luther King that he made on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. I remember watching it live on our black-and-white TV.

This theme on the "Today Show" may be prominent; in fact, I'm pretty sure it will be. Hoping Johnny and Dennis get some air time that will be showcase pool and their personalities. I've got my TV recording the "Today Show" from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Johnny said they'd be on at 9 a.m., but when it comes to TV programming, one never knows. :)

Same here. You never know with programming. Also, they may have him do things leading up to different commercial breaks similar to what Ewa Mataya was doing on WGN in Chicago a few months ago.

This just in...

Dennis Hatch posted on FB 13 minutes that he, Johnny, and Nick are en route to the studios in a limo. Dennis said he's nervous and he ain't even shooting the shot. :grin-square:

I just had a thought, and that is that Nick Varner is a pro at trick shots. Maybe Johnny figures he'd be good to have on site with him. In fact, I I were Johnny, I'd consider Nick stepping up to the plate.

Is it Nick Varner going with them? Here is a snippet of Johnny's post on FB...

Me, Dennis and Nick (Universe Clothing) are in the limo on the way to the Today Show. This is soooo cool!!!

Let's go, Johnny, Dennis, and Nick! They got this!

/laughing at a mental image of the three in a limo with their pool cues.

Ah, you may be right. I just read "Nick." I don't know who Nick of Universe Clothing is. :o

Maybe he is the liaison between Johnny/Dennis and NBC. ;)

Went to NBC Today Show website, and there's not one mention of it ---> HERE :(
