BREAKING NEWS: IPT Announces 150 Players

Some of the players invited are a joke.
Frank Alvarez, Sal Butera, Bernie Friend, Mike LeBron etc.
Also other than the top women, the other women on the list are no hopers.

Where's Wu and Kuo this years WPC finalists, also all the other top players from Taiwan.
Also where's the new young guns of 8 ball, Bowman, Kirkwood and Van Boening.

As soon as I saw Frank Alvarez on the list I knew this was going to be a fix.
This is not about the best players available this is just about who has the best connections.

I must say: I AM EXCITED!

One thing for sure, the IPT Tour does have an international flavor. The first OPEN event will begin in the year 2006, which is depicted on the IPT website.

There is an invitational event happening November 30-December 4, 2005 which will have 43 IPT members, 10 of which are CONFIRMED Hall of Famers.

The total prize purse for EACH upcoming tournament is: $1 MILLION

First place will pay out $200,000.

Wow, it doesn't get any better than this! :D :D :D

And you were soooo worried that Keith would not be selected.

No chance, Kevin is no dummy, he knows who can and who can not attract the crowd. Keith is good for Kevin and the IPT.

A million dollars up for grabs. Who wudda thunk it.

Good luck to all.

Do you even play pool? Or is there a stakehorse tournament as well?

Yes, it is true that Aaron is known mostly as a stakehorse. He, however plays also and has a true focus for 8-ball. He is a good player, and I could easily put him above many players on that list without exaggeration. Again, a unknown player doesnt necessarily mean a bad player.

Frank is a great ambassador to the sport and doesn't need people dumping on him for pursuing his dream. He's a dedicated player who deserves this as much as anyone.

There is nothing wrong with being involved with different facets of the game. It just so happens that he is more known for what he does "behind the scenes". He's an accomplished pool player and not only enjoys playing (and playing well), but brings the sport to the people who can't attend the pro events through his involvement with World Pool.

Scotty T.

Give them hell Scotty T. What a great pick this is, I hope he takes advantage of the oppurtunity.

I have never heard a bad thing about Frank. Everyone who knows him, or has talked to him for any amount of time, seems to really like him. No one is doubting he is a great person. However, if it is true that he doesn't really play at a professional level, isn't it only fair that he get to that level first and THEN earn the right to play with the professionals - just like everyone else? There are many people who are really great people and are dedicated to the game that, just to put it bluntly, don't play well enough for spectators to PAY to go watch play (or pay to order their matches on PPV).

By the way, where is Dave Hemmah on that list? He's a genuinely nice guy who is very dedicated to the game and also a great ambassador for the sport ... not to mention, he plays great too! Where's Tang Hoa? You see what I'm saying here? There are players who are great for the game who also play well enough to be there that appear to have been left out. I don't think anyone is saying anything bad about Frank Alvarez as a person.

I heard the Taiwanese players will be banned if they enter the IPT.
So that is why.
Was hoping they, where splitting the field, and make seperate Women's Tournaments.

So very true, sizl. Scotty is more colorful than any of them. Gotta pull for the gator wrestler.

I read this on the bottom of the IPT Event Schedule page: We are considering doing a European Open Championship, and Australian Open Championship, and an Asia Open Championship in 2007.

http://internationalpooltour.com/ipt/events/default.asp

This tour is going to soar, and the motto is: Real Pool. Real Rules. Real Money.TM

I sure hope the IPT is the change agent that the game/sport has so sorely needed. Finally, players will be competing for REAL MONEY, and it warms my heart to see the Hall of Famers being given this golden opportunity.

well........thats an interesting list......i wouldn't call it 150 "TOP" players.......more like 75 top players at best.

i do agree that quite a few people on there don't pony up to the standard.

although, it might be a great move on kevin t's part. think about it, you have some world class talent......then you have some marshmellows....in there.......everyone loves it when an underdog comes through.....out of all those lower level players......at least one of them is gonna make a breakthrough in this tour and the viewers are gonna love it.

besides after the first year, the ones that don't cut it will have prove themselves to get a tour card just like the PGA from what i understand.

Colenso, Colin - China

Any other AZB posters in there besides McCready?
Yipee *Jumping up and down* :D

I guess living in China has its advantages. I'll do my best to make the AZ'ers proud if and when I actually get to play. Better start practicing

Being selected for the tour is like hitting the lotto:D

Anyone who didn't get selected will be practicing like mad if they are smart, remember only the top 100 get tour cards for the following year, all the rest must re qualify.

I think at least 25 players will be replaced by new incoming players, this should leave plenty of room for an under tour of 100+ players to be created for those trying to gain a tour card something like the nike tour, just watch some of the promoters promote large 8-ball tournaments now.

Congratulations to Keith and all the other forum members who got selected.

More importantly it will make the actual top players look REALLY good by comparison. You need afew "marshmellows" out there missing shots, not getting the juice on that slow table, and generally sucking to show the general public how really good the rest of those guys are. That is probably why they put out the second teir women as well, the top ones may be able to compete to a degree, but this tour is going to show how really far below the level of the men the top 3-5 women in the world are compared to short stop men on this tour that will beat them.

I am SURE that if you ask the " better " players on this tour they are VERY VERY HAPPY to have the weaker players, with the type of $$$$$ being available to even the lower finishers, it will make for an easy pay check, instead of having to kill themselves to finish in the top 5 just to break even, with all these weaker players they should have NO PROBLEMS, getting into the serious cash almost every event :D :D

JAM IF I WAS YOU....... I WOULD START MAKING OUT MY CHRISTMAS LIST, CAUSE KEITH IS ABOUT TO BECOME YOUR " CASH COW " INSTEAD OF JUST BEING YOUR HORSE :D :D ;)

That's all fine and dandy to be involved in different facets of the game but this is supposed to be TOP PROFESSIONALS, not who stakes the TOP PROFESSIONALS. Why isn't JAM on the list? She has a great horse in this race, and she's involved.

That is all fine a good for 2006, but remember you have to finish high on the money list just like on the PGA or you will lose your tour card. There will be a qualifier tournament in Nov 2006 for the 2007 IPT. My suggestion for people who really want on the tour and did not get hand picked this year, is to get a sponsor who can handle the $1000.00 entry fees and shoot your way onto the tour. By the way my dark horse for the 2006 tour if he plays in a lot of events is Leil Gay. I steered this guy through the Carolina's in the early 80's and he could really play back then. I hear he is playing a lot of straight pool these day and run 100-300 at any given time. You heard it here first!

Kevin Trudeau
A written editorial and opinion by Charles D Ashmore III:

Kevin Trudeau can be found on late night TV promoting his various health related products. Unfortunately, Mr. Trudeau is not a trusted name in the infomercial business. The FTC actually ordered Kevin Trudeau to stop his deceptive advertising techniques. Hew was also actually ordered to pay thousands of dollars for reimbursement to many customers.

For detailed information you can go here, http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2004/09/trudeaucoral.htm.

Kevin Trudeau created a variety of products such as: "Hair Farming," "Mega Memory System," "An Addiction Breaking System," "Action Reading System," "Eden's Secret," and "The Mega Reading System".

Kevin Trudeau's tactic was to make his infomercial look as if it was completely news oriented and not paid for. Kevin is the reason why you now see "The following is a paid advertisement and this channel does not necessarily agree with or endorse any of their products".

Its obvious that I personally don't recommend Kevin Trudeau or anything associated with him.

After testing hundreds of opportunities only one created a rock solid income.
