Stopped over to watch the MD State Women's 9 Ball Tournament for a few hours. I watched 14 year old Briana Miller send WPBA Pro MyHahn Lac to the losers barcket. This kid is going to be somrthing. When I left there were 6 players left. The remaing 2 undefeated players, Megan Smith and Kathy Friend were still playing there match on the winners side. Looks like Briana will be a WPBA pro very soon!

Briana finished second to Megan Smith. Megan beat her for the hot seat. Then Briana beat My Hahn to got to the finals against Megan. Megan was in total control of the final match. IIRC, the final score was either 7-2 or 7-3 in favor of Megan.

I see Briana gets enrty into the WPBA Open in Norman, OK for 2nd place finish. Will the casino let her in to play being she is only 14 or 15? Johnnyt

I assume so, as long as she keeps walking when she is in the casino area and sticks to the traffic lanes. At least that's sort of how it is in Vegas.

I think you're correct on this point. Also, Briana always has a family member traveling with her. This weekend her mother was with her. She will not be in the casino area alone.

Some casinos have different rules. I remember Brittany Bryant was not allowed to compete in the 2009 Great Lakes Classic because the casino said she wan't old enough.

BEF jr Champ

Briana has an amazing game; I believe she's been the back to back to back ['07,'08 &'09] BEF 14 & under Junior National champ, represented the US in the Jr Worlds for the last three years, and is only getting better. I'd like to see her in the US Open in Chesapeake this year.....you go girl!

Briana is definitely the future of United States women's pool. She is a good kid too! She played in Norman last year in the WPBA US Open and if I recall, won a couple of matches. She also did really well in the WPBA satellite event at Borderline Billiards in Bristol, TN/VA.

Good luck Briana!
