I have a 1963 Anniversary with the logo pictured below. Every other picture that I've seen of an Anniversary around the same year with the Formica rails has the rectangular GCI logo. Any one have an info on why mine is different?
Thanks

This is just terrible... I'll tell you what, I'll give you $500 for it just so you won't have to try and figure this out! :D

Interesting,
1960
The Brunswick-Balke-Collender Company changes its name to Brunswick Corporation. I am no expert but something in the time line is a little off. Now you got me wondering Real king cobra might have a answer. I know that they would use older parts and sometimes mix and match. But using a older name plate with a out of date company name is curious. By the way nice inletting on the name plate.

Yeah, it's interesting. I always thought the table was old than 1963, but it has the formica rails.

I wanna get a tattoo of the figure shooting in the logo.

You might get more info in the talk to a mechanic forum...

my somewhat fuzzy memory tells me the GC started in 60 or 61
and they made no more 'new' parts for Anivs after that.

If your table is from 63, that would make it one of the last
Anivs ever built. So, likely just using up the inventory of parts.

BTW - I'm semi-certain Bruns used Formica well before 1963

My Anniversary has the same logo and Formica Rails as well:

This is from the 1952 catalog:

The first mention of Formica Rails was in the 1961 Catalog:

The only picture of the table in the 61 catalog is the same drawing they used for years, and you can just make out the rectangular logo on it.

Hope this helps,

Markus

Well, a couple interesting things. I am going off of memory so it' iffy!

Brunswick did not go public till 1971 or so and continued to use BBC well into the 60's even though they were Brunswick Corp. I believe this was mentioned in "The history of Brunswick "book.

The name plate you are showing is the later version for these tables. It's interesting that in the 52' catalog there is mention of formica rails for the centennial but not the anniversary. Both rails were the same.
So i think your guess of 63 could be right on. Hope this was of any help!:)

My Anniversary has the same nameplate and it was supposed to have been made in the 50's and it has Formica rails. I wasn't there when they made it so I am just going on what the mechanic who installed it told me.

I never noticed that. The text for the Centennial rails in the catalog says:

"New, extra durable formica rails - resistant to burns, marring, and liquid effects - available at extra cost."

I had assumed that they switched to Formica in 61 when the Gold Crown came out.

They made rails with Formica tops in the 1950s

When I was a kid I played on Anniversary tables that were bought in the mid-50's. They had formica rails. We used to put our cigarettes on them while we played (hard to believe today).

The plot thickens. I emailed Brunswick...they are no help at all.
Who did you email? I sent an email too, I don't know ifthe people I emailed will know the answer either but I think they can find out. Hopefully they can shed some light on this.

I don't remember exactly who I emailed. The email almost read like a form letter.
I'm love to figure out the exact date of my table. On my GCI I had dates all over the table. Nothing on the Anniversary.

The triangular plate is found on the older versions. Rectangular is the newer one found on the centennial.(may have that backwards!) Since they are interchangeable, lot of swaps over the years I think. 1st 2 pics are Centennial, 3rd is Anniversary rail
