Brunswick Centennial, Charlotte, North Carolina

That's not a knock, it's a comparison of value. It's like a new mustang with an EcoBoost 2.3l 4 cylinder motor, vs a mustang with a 5.0L....just not in the same performance category, even though the owner of the EcoBoost thinks he's driving a performance car.

I don't think anyone said anything about buying a table cheap to flip it.

The small turbo engines are much better engineered compared to the old big blocks. Tight tolerances, high end materials for lightness, smoothness in the engine and airflow. You don't make high power from smaller displacement by being sloppy or cheap.

Guys, I don't think anyone wants trouble.

Knock it off, while you can.

My feelings exactly! A guy comes on here and shows us all a very nice table, one that is coveted in the billiard world. Many of us would love to own a nice Anniversary or Centennial, and it wouldn't have to play perfect either. I've seen many new high end tables that also don't play perfect (names withheld) or even close to perfect.

My own personal experience with the Anniversary's and Centennial's that I played on during my formative years as a pool player was that they play pretty damn good, perhaps even better than many new tables being manufactured today. But what do I know? I'm not a 'great' pool table mechanic. I'm just another bum who likes to bang balls around from time to time.

All this bickering about relative values and quality of restoration is a total turn off to me. That's why I didn't post again when it all started. I waited for you to give voice to what I was thinking. Thanks

True dat! Notice that almost all the high end car makers are using four cylinder turbo engines. They've discovered this is the most efficient engine design for a combination of power, reliability and low fuel consumption.

Of course, in ten to twenty years most of the cars will be electric. The internal combustion engine will some day be a relic of the past, with electric charging stations everywhere and not a gas station to be found. Of course the big oil companies will fight this until their dying breath.

Unless you have the balls to go inside the one and only local place here in town and say what you wrote, it would be kind to edit your words.

Thanks to those who posted some nice tables.

Can you tell me of a great pool table mechanic in Salem? I'm waiting....
These guys set up 4 tables a day... with staples. I'll wait for Glen or someone that he has trained.

I would prefer the centennial to any table ever made

I would love to have a nice one I now have a Gold Crown 5
in the garage that I would gladly trade for a Centennial and pay
the difference

This looks like a nice one to me

Bottom line is all three of you are good guys trying to make a living. And you each have your own target market. Here's my perceived ratings:

Trent ($$$) 2nd place on refinish and 3rd place on play-ability.

Glen ($$$$) 2nd place on play-ability and 3rd place on refinish

Mark ($$$$$)1st place on play-ability and 1st place on refinish.

Good news is that the client has options.

Let's not forget about Derrick Tiers who moves a ton of pool tables without bashing others. Y'all should take a page out of his book.

There's a few more good pool table mechanics out there besides just these three guys. We don't hear much from them on here because they're too busy working on tables.

Russ, any past thread has nothing to do with this thread and is no excuse for rude behavior. "He did it to me so I am just doing it back to him" is not ok.

I’m not Russ......but you deleted most of my post....:.trent plays the victim on this bullshit AZ billiards site and you take my pics out?
Read a lot of Trents past post if y’all want to know why a lot of mechanics on here hate that puck.
And before I get banned for life....witch I’m happy to be gone from this joke site......ask Jay to name just one good mechanic......I need a good laugh.

Good bye to all the key board hero’s that don’t have the balls to sign their real name to their big mouth posts.

Don't leave, it does no one any good, even yourself.

I hate to inform you of this but there are other top notch mechanics out there but as far as I am concerned, no one should be naming those who are not members here.

I know many great players in the Bay area of Cali, there is one top notch mechanic who I hear a lot about. When the top players in the World are in the area to play, he makes sure the tables are in perfect condition.

He also set up a Gold Crown for a customer of mine at his second house in California, this customer played on my table and said it played great but I also know that you or Glen would make it play better, no question.

Lots of anger yesterday on AZ, don't let it harm a sale that may happen next month or next year.

Go break a few racks and enjoy.

You have been given a break and don't seem to appreciate it.

If you really don't want t to be here, just say so and I'll help you out.

It would be a shame to lose you guys, with all your specialized knowledge.

As for the "drama" I will ignore it, but, I will say this:

I work very hard on every project I take on and I only buy excellent candidates for restoration. My clients are well educated about the table they are buying and all the options that are available to them. I restore every table to their specifications. I communicate well with my clients& vendors, my prices are fair, I show up on time and most importantly: In the end my clients are happy with their tables.
