Brunswick Centennial ready for action

I'm sure this is a really dumb question but it looks like there could be a possibility of those big headed pocket nails coming in contact with balls coming from certain angles? Probably just an optical illusion from the photos but I hate when that happens to my balls. Plastic and steel never mix well.

Years ago I had a 9' Monarch II which looked really nice but played like junk. Its rails always made me think that they were constructed out of some sort of laminate, or Formica for lack of a better term.

Just out of sheer curiosity, what is the composition of the top finish on the rails of GC's?

Trust me the round head nails never touch the balls and if they happen to hit one (which they won't) that's why the head is round... The pockets are tucked in behide the facings Won't touch the balls.
The flat head nails destroy the balls.
But good question.

I truly don't know what Brunswick put on the top of the Formica on GC tables
...but if shines and looks good.....pretty thick Formica on the GC rails.

That is smokin!!!
I can't wait to get my rails back, and they haven't left Canada yet :D
I'm super excited to see what you can do with a dufferin home table, and how it will play with intercontinentals on it!!!

Just make sure you send one corner and one side pocket casting if it's a commercial Dufferin table;)

I'd start to question the motivation of a man that likes to flirt with "Pandora's box"...as either crazy, or a sadist...but Mark...I think you're a little of both:p:D

I just converted this Brunswick Centennial 5x10 snooker table.....to a 5x10 pool table...4.5 corner pockets....The tables in Cocoa Beach, Fla. where live streaming going to take place soon. I did a complete restore from top to bottom on this table.

Great job, table looks beautiful, as has been already said many times. But what I am also interested in is: Any idea what type of live streaming is in store, when, who, etc? Anyone have any idea? (quoted blue text above from OP)

Edit: If I missed an answer to this earlier in the thread, I apologize. I have followed it off and on since it's inception, but may have missed a page along the way...

I'm not sure as of yet....J R Calvert of Iside pool is going to do the live streaming of matches as of right now.....when....again not sure.
The room is beautiful...the owner Gary Patrick is a really nice guy that really likes pool....so I'm sure he's going to try and do a lot of different things.
Follow inside pool mag. and you will get the answers to all the questions.
I just did the table and set-up for Gary.
I may even play a match...if they have one for old timers that can't make a ball....LMAO

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it very much. I will keep on eye on Inside Pool for updates on matches. Look forward to watching all the match-ups possible in that great looking room and on the beautiful table(s). Would love to visit in person. If they do a match-up with old-timers that can't make a ball, I might be your perfect sparring partner. LOL

Thanks again...

Outstanding work. You guys always amaze me.

Thank you....but if not for Glen showing his work on here first......getting some mechanic's together.....and a lot of installers together on here......90% of us wouldn't be doing anywhere close to the work we all do today.

(Glen took a lot of so so table guy's and helped make them good installers.)

Glen was a big inspiration in a lot of the work I turn out today.....I give Glen lot's of credit for helping so many people....learn so much.

Glen is truly a great table mechanic....and like a brother to me.

You did an awesome job converting and restoring this table. It's just beautiful!

Just curious, what needs to be done to convert a snooker table to a pool table? (lets assume the table is in good shape) Below are my guesses.

1. New cushions (to get rid of the snooker rounds)
2. Does the rail need to be reworked to accept the new cushions? (Lets say for arguments sake you wanted it to play like a GC5 from the factory with Super Speed cushions)
3. Does the slate pocket opening need to be adjusted in size?
4. What else?

Thanks.

Serious work' I notice that snooker has one sight "aka diamond" per rail, this table now has three per rail.. The installing sights is a huge job! I'm still trying to figure out how he got that wood to look so nice!
Wow mark!
