Brunswick centennial restoration

You are in FL? It would seem to be an easy choice.

Kevin

naa...when there's only 1 choice, it takes a while to figure that out...it's a simple process of elimination...first, you call everyone else, just to make sure you end up with number 1 working on your table...so, that takes time:D

I'm in Maryland working, table is here. I will ship it wherever necessary to have it perfect.
Bought it from a guy in FL and had it shipped here - a few more miles wont hurt :)

Still considering buying a 10' Anniversary or 10' Centennial

Marks 10 foot tables are a true piece of art work. The conversion he does on the snooker to pool tables is a real treat. His prices are low considering that there is pool tables purchased for $45,000 in the hills of Beverly and they have zero playability when compared..
I want to take a bet that the floor in his house collapses from the tremendous amount of weight from all the entire tables that keep showing up at his place..if a stray dog shows up at his door he gets the dog back to health. If a table shows up at his door from a freight company, he takes it in to doctor it back to good health. I believe the only two things that make him go beyond anyone's expectations is love and dedication for what he does.

Thanks for sharing

Yeah everybody's got their own way of evaluating stuff.

Me? If I had the opportunity for one stop-shopping for work (both finish and set-up) of that quality? I'd see it as a complete opportunity and hope I qualified for the craftsman involved, not the other way around.

But like I said, everyone evaluates different.

BTW, who is the Dean that got this Centennial?

Thanks

Kevin

The tables in Dallas,Texas.....in a beautiful home....with the perfect place for the table.
I took the top out of the light so at night the light will light up the crown molding above as well as the table.....love to see the pic of that.

Dean.....I know you read this forum....so I hope you give the table a chance to break in.....to play the way a great table should play.

More than sure you will love it in time.....I hit balls on it before I left....I was more than pleased with the play.

Thank you everyone for the complements on the work.....and thank you Dean for job opportunity.
Hope it's everything you wanted and more........I sure wouldn't mind having it.

I know a Dean in Dallas that reads this forum.

I'd love see some updates on the Lomax project. What you have shown so far is awesome. Also I can't wait to see what you can do with that Kling. Thanks for posting. Your work is inspiring.

Thanks again

Kevin

Perfectpocketz, that is one great job you did on your table. I would love to have someone refinish the wood on my rails to look like yours. Can you pm with some of the details involved?

Take a bow buddy....! Taptaptap

Last summer I was in Vegas when mark asked me to run to Phoenix to get a centennial that he found and planned to restore. I was there the following night looking at it, taking pics, texting and calling mark..." Are you sure you want this one? Dogs ate the legs! This is going to take a TON of work to even get worth lookin at, much less playing on... are you SURE???" I know he's good- I've seen his work before, played on his rails, seen the end results. I was wrong. Mark isn't good. He's what any table mechanic or installer that lives his job wants to grow up to be someday. I knew he wouldn't just do a good enough job, but I'm still in awe of how he turned that busted up pile of shame into the best looking and playing centennial I have ever seen. Anywhere in the country. I've seen some I THOUGHT was perfect in the past... I'm just honored to have been there to see the end result when mark brought to deanocs house, especially after being the only one prior to this thread to see what mark was working with when he started! Glen knows tables inside and out, and may well be the best felt man in the business, but mark is a miracle worker. I was a table mechanic for years before I met mark, jay, or glen- I made a public announcement on here that I'm reducing myself to an installer until I can learn and do what mark knows- ESPECIALLY with his rail work. I've done some work with glen and mark both, and even as stubborn as I am, they still manage to beat some new and improved ways into me. I've even been with glen for a couple of weeks during the crashcourse of rail calibrations. But I have to say mark, I'm sorry I ever doubted you on this table! It plays EXACTLY as great as it looks! There's not enough rep points on the Azb website to cover this one buddy- I know Steve is going to be as ecstatic with his table, as I'm jealous of Deans! You were already head of the class before, but this was a whole new level. You and glen ( I didn't just say that?!) are the reason I keep working on tables- you're the inspiration that keeps me taking on nightmare jobs and good ones- when I grow up, I wanna make YOUR heads turn- just like you've done here. Amazing job mark, and for the rest of you debating on sending mark a table to restore, or rails to rebuild, I would suggest you hurry- he's about to get a waiting list longer than Southwest and Searing after this..... I can guarantee it it!
Thanks for sending me on what I thought last year was a fools errand, and letting me be there to be a part of the grand finale- that is one AWESOME job on one helluva table!
Take a bow buddy, you've earned it!

Thank you Shane.......trust me I hated the table when it got to me......but it Is what it is....that one was pretty bad.

Thank you for helping set the table up at Dean's house.....pretty cool way we hung the Brunswick light....you really liked that....lmao

Plus you saved the day bringing the slates in the house......buddy you carry slate like it's note book. WOW something to see.

Tell Jen hey and thank you as well for me.
Sure hope we can work together again soon.....specially if I need slates moved...LMAO

Sure hope Dean keeps the table.......looks awesome in his house.

Again thanks for everything......maybe you and Jen can come to my house....then we can work in the shop together.

I may run over to your place after I finish tables in Louisiana, before I head to ultimate 10 ball on 13th. And you're right- I LOVE the way that finishes out the light- that's the immortal nuts! now to track down some more centennials before your waiting list gets too long!

I know I have already replied to this thread but I just keep opening it up to have another look at that table and light. Outstanding work Mark. I really is truly awesome.

I have lurked the site a time or two, today I had to register to comment on the flagship table.
I have tinkered with a few tables and I can not believe my eyes! It appears your replacing sections if not the entire rail.?
Outstanding craftsmanship, It shows in your attention to detail.

Regards

Yes....I cut a lot of the old wood out on the bottom of the rail...then piece rosewood back on the top of the rails......trust me I go over board at times.

x2 here.
I had never personnally seen or played a Kling. I would love it if you keep us on AZ posted as to how that comes along !

I guess you guys know that it;s my table

When I got it everything was beautiful but I found it to be too fast cloth and I still missed balls.
I need to apologize to Mark because I was disappointed, after a week of playing on it
I can sat the fault was all my own,Mark did a great job,

I have owned half a dozen anniversaries and Centennial and this one is by far the nicest one ever.
I was given a choice of finishes and chose this one.

I truly recommend Mark to anyone who wants the perfect playing table

He has another one in his shop that is unspoken for and I have a nice 9 foot Kling
with the loud walnut that i now that I have the perfect table,Mark was going to restore it to perfection
but I am very happy with this one

He also did a great job with the light,he took half a day hanging the light

Thanks to mark for a great job

I have been riding Mark for years to post up on AZ in the main forum for several reasons.

(1) no one will ever understand what goes into restoring a pile of junk and turn it into a thing of beauty...if he don't post before and after pictures.

(2) no one will truly know what kind of craftsman he is, if it's all left up to the viewer imagination, so post up.

(3) there are lots of potential customers out here that want their pool tables restored, but don't know who to get in contact with....if he don't post up.

(4) you get more credit for taking an F- pool table and turning it into an A- as the improvement is more noticable...if you post up.

(5) ego's need to be feed, that's the fuel needed to continue on taking on impossible projects, and the fuel to feed that ego comes from posting up, that way you don't feel like what your doing is going to waste, and that you're NOT wasting your time rebuilding these pool tables....so, post up.

I think the hammer finally hit Mark in the head....HE POSTED UP:thumbup:

Glen

Fresh paint on a turd, don't change the fact that it's still a turd...with paint on it, post up...don't be shy now....

I will tell you this, you make John Barton look stable...and that's saying something. Oh yes, and if you sleep in your truck more than 50 nights a year I think you are technically homeless. Obama may have a check waiting for you.

Well, I AM homeless, and have been for the last 12 years...but I'm also BILL-LESS if that counts for anything;)

Are you having trouble posting the pics of the perfect table you did perfectly all by yourself?

eMail them to me and I'll post them up for you!

Make sure you have some good pics of the pockets close up. Some less than perfect jobs look less than perfect there.

kvinbrwr@earthlink.net

Thanks
