BTW... It needs to be said......

Good to "hear", JAM. :p

Hopefully his physical gives you further good news.

And I hope you are well, too. Caring for a sick loved one can take it out of a person.

Hi Jam, I enjoy your posts. Does Keith still play, how muck practice and how much competitive playing does he do. What is the story behind his side arm stroke, did he start doing it as a kid, just wondering.

Glad he is doing better. We need new picture of Keith with his NEW choppers.

He ready to do the Colgate commercial now!

Thank you for your interest in Keith. He learned how to play pool as a very young boy, competing against his two older brothers and father on a bumper pool table. He couldn't quite reach the height of the table, and that is how he developed the side stroke. It just stuck, muscle memory and all that, and it seemed to work out all right for him as he developed his game. :p

The lure of the tournament trail was not enough to maintain Keith's interest in competitive pool, and, sadly, thanks to the advent of Internet and social media, his high-stakes action days are behind him, which is where he shined the brightest. Though he could still garner a few action games at the local tournaments and regional happenings, the handicapping process by all those involved became ridiculous. IOW, nobody wanted to gamble; they were looking for a lock.:embarrassed2:

He is planning on making the rounds in the spring. His first stop will be in New Jersey. As the time draws near, I am sure there will be a confirmation announcement as to the who, what, and when.

Thanks, Justadub. You're right. It was brutal, fearing the worst, thinking it was a neurological condition. He's still not out of the woods yet, but he's functioning just fine, which is a godsend. :)

He quit smoking the first of the year and doesn't drink brewskies. You may not recognize him next time we see you, without that brown bottle and Marlboro in his hand. ;)

By the grace of God, I found an urgent care center online that was open on Sundays until 9 p.m. They charge one flat fee of $130.

God bless America .

...

In all seriousness, I'm glad to hear he's on the mend.

Thank you. :)

It actually is a good rate, that $130. For $130, he got tested for blood sugar, which he was a little elevated, and also had his blood pressure taken on both arms, which also was a little elevated. They gave him 3 months of *free* blood pressure medicine and irrigated both ears for the vertigo he was suffering from. Believe me, $130 is cheap for all that.

Best part about it, when we arrived, there was not a car in the parking lot, and we were seen immediately. When we left, there were about eight or nine people in the waiting room, and the parking lot was full. God blessed us that day.

He looks GREAT! His skin cleared up. The drinking made his skin look like an alligator before.

BTW. I used to rail Keith on Full Tilt Poker before Black Friday and the DOJ confiscated all our money. They just released the money and returned it back to us. Did Keith have any cash online? Did he get his money back. My lady just remembered she had a $100 online and just applied for it. I got back my bankroll and it was up there.
If you need help let me know.

Glad to hear Keith is coming around, and very happy to hear that he's taking care of his self. Keith comes from the era of players I admire most, and he's always been one of my favorites to watch play. I'm hoping Keith has many, many more games left and I'm able to meet him one of these days. Thanks for taking care of a legend and thanks for the updates, JAM!

Good fresh homemade style fried chicken and french-fries that actually taste like they came from a potato. Little place in Kentwood Louisiana. Good homemade tasting burgers too. I'm working my way through their menu but it may take awhile to get to the po-boys and stuff, that chicken was the best I have eaten in many a moon!

Didn't hurt none it was named after one of my favoritest people but I'd eat there even if it wasn't named JAM's.

Let's eat there when I come for a visit.

Just read about Keith's health issues and am glad to see he is on the mend. Don't get on this site that much anymore as the site seems headed in a mean spirited direction with too much drama....but that's our society today, IMHO. He certainly looks great! You both are blessed to have each other. I truly feel that GOD puts people together for a reason. Look forward to yours and Keith's continued contributions.

sounds like a plan!

Joey,

Sounds like a plan. Since kinfolks are about halfway betwixt me and there you can grab some fresh yardbird for them too after we eat if you are so inclined.

Best I could see they weren't cooking huge batches and hitting warmers for hours. Fries and chicken were both very fresh. JAM is there tending business too, no chain or franchise here!

JAM,

Great to hear the latest about Keith. Sounds like he is on the mend and soon to be on the prowl!

To Jam - Road story about Geese

For years, every since I was a kid I've heard this story. In fact I heard this directly from Geese's mouth. Unsure of the exact year but was about late 80's early 90's. Geese and Buzzy ( Buzzsaw ) were on a road trip. I believe at this point they were in Florida. Well Buzzy was playing a guy down there he was supposed to be robbing; or at the least beat handily. Well they went broke, I believe losing around 20k. Limping back to Baltimore Buzzy told ,geese his vans motor was starting to tap. It needed oil or it was gonna blow up. Geese says there's a truck stop a mile up the road pull over there. They get there and Geese grabs his bag and starts to get out if the van. Buzzy asks him what he's doing? Geese pulls a back up knot out if his sock and said he's catching a bus home. Buzzy asks what am I supposed to do - Geese replies I dont know, I've got a ride. Maybe next time u won't dog you brains out. That was it, Geese walked off into the sunset.

Anyhow jam, just wanted to know if u ever heard this one and had anything to add. In no way is this meant as a dig at Geese - ya know I loves him. But rather as a small insight into the rough and tumble life of road agents!
