Buddy Hall joins The Action Challenge

We are very excited to announce that Pool Legend Buddy Hall is joining The Action Challenge commentating team !!!

Buddy is a Champion on the table and in the commentating booth, he joins Grady Mathews and Billy Incardona to form what will be in my opinion the best team of commentators one could assemble.

We are very proud to be working with Buddy and look forward to sharing his knowledge, experience and good humor. We want to welcome Buddy and thank him for being a part of The First Action Challenge.
You just went from the jack pot to hitting the mega millions. There isn't a better team of commentators in the pool world IMO. I think you've made an excellent selection and I wish you good luck with this big match.

Best in the business!

Buddy, Grady, and Billy are the best in the business. You couldn't have better commentators! You've gone to some expense getting these guys, and everyone would like to see you get your investment paid back over and over. I hope one day soon you'll be able to put on a one-pocket challenge as well.

Very best wishes,

Art "Doc" Tripp

You guys were already getting my 20 but I appreciate the lengths you are going to for this to be a great success. I think the group you have chosen are the best out there as well. GL w/ everything and I look forward to the match.

Last year in Vegas I rented a huge tv that I could hook my laptop up to. It cost me $100 for a month's rental. This is what I would suggest. Rent the biggest monitor you can/tv you can and set it up where everyone can see it.

That way the folks in the pool rooms can see it too and know what The Action Report is all about!!!!

My desktop monitor quit on me last week and although I like sitting on the couch with the laptop I think this might be the perfect excuse to buy a nice big monitor!! Nothing like having a really good excuse. Don't need an excuse to buy a cue or a case but a computer I need to justify with a really good excuse.

I just bought one of the WIDESCREEN Westinghouse monitors from Best Buy for CHEAP MONEY and I mean CHEAP money. No flicker, great resolution, WIDE SCREEN, so wide that I am just getting used to it.
I think it was a little over a hundred bucks. 19" diagonal....

Could it...

be compared to Paul Newman, Jackie Gleason and George C. Scott teaming up to do a sequel?;)

This is an all star cast of commentating that will definitely be one for the ages. I can't wait!!!!:)

This just gets worse and worse. So, I'll be sitting just feet from not two but three of the best commentators in pool and unable to hear a word they are saying. I almost want to sit at home and get the stream instead. Burn a dvd for me, I guess.

You can bet I'll be watching both days...but who's gonna randomly yell out "9 down!" or "Let's watch as Corey break off!" so Billy feels comfortable behind the mic?

just a thought

Is there a way to rent out ear/headphones at the venue so the audience could also hear the commentary like they do at nascar races?

Right now we do not have that capability. I think its a good idea and something we are going to look at for the future.

Justin,

IF you are interested in the FM transmitter idea - available cheaply at Radio Shack - then I will see about sending you a hundred or so small fm radios with earbuds. They are small radios. I think I can get them for a few bucks apiece at most and shipping is cheap.

IF I can do it and you are interested then reply on this forum and I will look into it today.

IF you are interested then CueSight and Sterling will sponsor these headsets free to you in exchange for advertising on the broadcast and dvds.

Let me know.

John

John thank you for the offer.

Right now we have so much on our plate technically that with only 2 weeks to go, I don't think we will have time to add something else. In the future we will be interested for sure.

The overriding concern would be interference with our wireless mic system, which I know is not supposed to be problem, but it is still one more thing that can go wrong.

We are going to do more of these. We will get better and provide more features and better production values as we grow and learn. I think the FM idea is the nuts, I know I would like to listen to the commentary. For now we are going to keep it simple and focus on doing the best job we can with what we have.

All right COOL! Keep me informed because I can definitely get the headsets - at least the tiny radio kind.

One year at the US Open I was in the rotunda and Accu-Stats was set up right behind my booth. So even though I had to watch the booth I got to sweat all the tv matches courtesy of the monitors and a headset Pat loaned me. It was the bomb! Too bad I had customers interrupting my enjoyment of the Open :-)
