Buddy Hall moves over to Meucci cues. He will represent Meucii cues as well.

You want to play the retiree some???

Hello Saw,
I can't think of one player that was 12 time world champion. Much less 5 time pool player of the year, in the world. And he won 3 tournaments last month.
When he came to Buffalo's Billiards the worlds pool hall last year he played great! Scott Frost, Chris Gentile and Ronnie Wiseman are in town at Buffalo's Billiards now.
Along with another player that is a champion from Efren Reyes home town. This guy plays great! His name is Warren Kiampo. But back to Buddy Hall, he is the original Lock. And he still plays great!
Many Regards,
Lock N Load.

I am not bashing Buddy. Buddy was a great player in his time. Just saying that I think the only reason Buddy is representing Meucci at this time is because he needs money. Just because Buddy represents them doesn't mean Bob is going to improve the quality of his cues. Actually I was bashing Bob and not Buddy. I wont play Buddy, but I might play you some.

:grin::grin::grin:

Before you challenge anyone a game of pool on here...I think it would only be fair if you told everyone what kind of pool cue you'd be using.

I wish there was some way to take care of all the others--if so we might still have BOOM BOOM with us--Billy J played good ,he did

Just saw him

TBH, they got a player to represent their cues who is no longer much of a quality (or even active) player. No offense to Buddy but he is way, WAY beyond his prime and when is the last time he ever even competed in an event? He skipped the IPT due to health reasons and had free entries into those events.

What is the point? This is no different then if Dunlop was to start sponsoring Jack Nicklaus, sponsor him to do what exactly???

I know this will be unpopular, but I seriously do not get it, Buddy Hall is long retired from this sport and I do not get the point of a cue sponsorship at all other then perhaps being charity.

He just played at the Southern Classic. Always been friendly

Buddy represented Meucci when they were called Meucci Originals before 1990. Only reason Buddy is representing them is because he needs money. If Meucci wanted to boost their rep they would have a current young player play with their cue and not Buddy Hall who is basically retired. Bob Meucci wont improve his quality because he is too much of a tightwad.

last time buddy was with meucci was 96-2000, then he went to lucasi. Just thought I'd mention that.

WOW,
A true legend gets a gig that pays some $for repping for a company.
Howinell is that a bad deal for anybody?????

The legend gets some $.
The company gets some press.
I hope all you guys that are downing on this never need a buck.
Good for mr. Meucci for doing this. Like I said before, I'll buy something from him for doing it.
Just not a cue 'cause i don't need one.

You would think if Bob Meucci was "re-introducing" Buddy as a new player representative, he would have had a booth with Buddy in it, at the BCA trade show in Chicago two weeks ago. Big time marketing opportunity lost there, imo. Best of luck to Buddy. He is a true American legend.

He told me last night that he will be playing with a Meucci and holding siminars for the Meucci company. He told me his new Meucci shoots so good. He did not however say anything about the great player, playing with the new cue. Buddy said he will be doing a lot of traveling now since he is representing Meucci! I am passing this info on the the AZB family.
Many Regards,

What Really Went Down

As most people know, Mike Erwin was at Meucci Cues during Buddy Halls first go round with Meucci. I know this for a fact as about a month before Tunica's tournament in 2012, Buddy Hall contacted Mike Erwin and they had a great phone visit as Buddy Hall told Mike Erwin he would like to play with a Erwin Cue at Tunica 2012. Mike finished up a cue for Buddy Hall and sent it to him a couple weeks before Tunica 2012. Mike Erwin was over joyed that his old friend was going to play with a cue of his. When Mike Erwin showed up at Tunica 2012, Buddy didn't have his cue there and stated that he just didn't have enough time to adapt to the Erwin Cue. As we all know, Mike Erwin passed away in October of 2012, so, the only confirmation of this situation is from me verifying the phone calls. I told Mike Erwin to get a hold of Buddy Hall and get that cue back since Buddy Hall broke the contract. Mike knew in his heart and I feel the same that Buddy Hall only used the Erwin Cue to flash it in front of Bob Meucci and in my opinion, this is the only reason Buddy Hall got a publicity shot from Meucci Cues. Recently, I asked Mikes son Scott Erwin if Buddy Hall ever sent the cue back since he broke the contract. Scott Erwin just stated that it's never been returned and that's all he was going to comment on. I don't blame Scott as like he said, it was between his father and Buddy Hall. I will agree with that statement and all I will say is that if Bob Meucci and Budd Hall got together and planned out some business deal, great for the both of them. However, what happened to the Erwin Cue Mr. Hall ?, You broke a contract, return the cue if you still have it as it's not legally your property !! You broke your contract with Mike Erwin. If you sold the cue, as other postings say you need money, then, that's really a sham...... I mean shame. The Erwins are great folks and that cue Mike Erwin sent you under the premises that you were going to shoot with it at Tunica 2012 to fulfill the contract never happened. Return the cue to Scott Erwin.

Trust Me, Scott Erwin has no idea I am replying and telling this true story. I've read several things and hear all the stuff. That's fine, see if Mr. Hall can man up and at least send the cue back to the rightful owner.

I am also going to say this which makes it more aggravating. Mike Erwin told me stories of when Buddy Hall would shoot games while at Meucci's plant, seems like they also had tournaments once in a while. Countless times, Mike Erwin would tell me stories of how he watched Buddy Hall play many games as Buddy Hall was Mike Erwins favorite player of all time. Buddy, Please send the cue back if you have it.

I'm not out to offend anyone at all. I just happened to have been a real friend of Mike Erwin. Mike Erwin felt real bad when Buddy didn't use his cue at Tunica and of course saw the light when the announcement Buddy done a player rep with Meucci. He just didn't think you would dump on him Mr. Hall. He really thought you were an honorable friend.

Where's the cue ??

It drives me completely crazy when people resurrect threads that are OVER A YEAR OLD and act like it has just been posted.

First, I don't think to many people care what drives you crazy other than posting remarks that have nothing to do with a thread. That drives us all crazy for sure. Second: My comments ( if you would have been able to figure it out) was to the time period of the original post, in fact, were of the time period before the original post !! I can assure you !!! I was not acting like it has just been posted !! How can you even get that picture in your head ??? Since my comments were of Tunica 2012 and the month before leading up to Tunica 2012, how could you think I believed it to be a new post. Just to help you a little more........ or a lot more..... I done a search for an old Meucci to make sure I had the model numbers correct and this old post came up in the search, in fact, even older posts came up in my search. The headline interested me and reminded me of the circumstances. I apologize if I offended your crazy button, but, please make sure you fully understand that I was not acting in any way shape or form that it was a new post. YUP Pretty Clear on that one.

I'm not saying that there cue quality isn't getting better but as desperate as players are for sponsors and to scrape together a living at this game I think they would play with anything as long as you cut them a check to do it.

Great news. Thanks, Lock N Load! Buddy will be an excellent spokesperson for Meucci cues. :)

Just noticed this thread is a year old, but that's okay. I still like to read anything about Buddy Hall. :)
