Is the joint delrin? Phenolic? Does not look like ivory.

What does it look like down the join? Is there a brass insert of sorts? Wood threading?

The shaft pin is 3/8-10?

How thick is the cue? joint diameter. Grip area.

There is no need to answer all these questions though.

Just the questions that start popping into my head when I see a nice cue.

I love the cue Steve, Burton left us way to soon, but it seems the good ones / innovators burn out the fastest.

Thanks for sharing

Funny you post this cue today. Yesterday i was asking if Burton made any cues or just parts. Now after seeing this beautiful cue my question is answered.
I wonder why George and Gus get so much more publicity about their cues, when it appears that Burton was on their level if not more advanced.

As a matter of personal preference, I would have to say this Spain cue is one of the classiest cues I ever saw. Simply wonderful.

Thanks for the pictures.

Lots to offer from this cue. Some really great design elements, and tons of historic value. Kind of a "period piece".
Thanks for giving us a look!

Steve, This is a great looking cue. You just keep getting the best of the best.

To answer the above wonderings.... I think Burton's cues do not get the following and prices for his cues that Gus and George's bring for a few reasons. Burton had more of a localized following when alive, and Gus and George had more of a national following. Another thing is that Gus and George built cues that appealed to more people. Burton built cues the way he felt was best even if the market did not like it. He kept putting the pin in the shaft instead of the butt, and that hurt his following. Joel switched that pretty fast and his cues are considered top level sought after cues and have been for some time.

hey

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. The cue is just stunning in person.

I have been so busy with business, a few medical issues and moving to a different house 4 miles from where we were....LOL My son had a baby boy, and my daughter is having a baby girl in about 7-10 days.....I missed you all over the last few months. Good to be back

A few days ago, Timmy Scruggs called me, and wanted me to help him work his blood glucose meter.....I talked him thru the process pretty quickly, and felt sort of thrilled that I finally got a chance to help him. I am sure he is still sorely missing his wife.

Steve
